Sledgehammer Games is not involved with the newly-announced Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The studio was working on its own CoD title due for release in 2011, but that project was put on hold when Infinity Ward called on its help to develop Modern Warfare 3.
Now it seems, Sledgehammer is on its own again and cooking up something new.
That’s the suggestion of a tweet from the official Sledgehammer Twitter account overnight, as the studio moved to congratulate IW on Ghosts’ announcement.
"Congrats to @InfinityWard on #CODGhosts!" wrote the studio. "Our team is heads down on our next project, but best wishes to the hardworking team at IW!"
Whether his means that Sledgehammer is creating its own Call of Duty title, or something else entirely is currently unknown. Our money’s on the former though. There's plenty more milk left in that cow.
