Codemasters has released a new GRID 2 trailer for the racing sequel's multiplayer, having revealed the online portion of the game last week. There'll be YouTube video uploads, rivals to throwdown against and defeat, which in turn earn you followers via RaceNet.

It's 'multiplayer redefined' according to the video, which shows the game in action, with gameplay footage and multiplayer menu screens. It's all about pushing GRID 2's competitive social facets, which you'll be able to access through RaceNet on any mobile devices you might own.

Promising greater depth, more progression and more rewards for players, with modes including Endurance, Drift, Touge, Time Attack and more, GRID 2's multiplayer offers racing for 12 players online, as well as 2-player split-screen. Around 6 billion car customisation options through the livery editor are just the icing on the cake.

GRID 2 is out on May 28th in North America and May 31st in Europe. Want to see the trophy list? Here it is!

  • Is that online with two player splitscreen or no?
  • Ca n u guys let us know what kinda stuff we will have to do with multiplayer to earn the trophies? Like, will I have to upload videos and stuff? I know we need to get a certain number of fans or followers for one, I figured it was story based but I'm guessing not.
  • I like that "can anyone beat this guy?" "I WILL!".
