The Sims is a juggernaut of a franchise on the PC, selling by the bucketload as players escape the humdrum of normal everyday existence to perform the humdrum routine of a virtual life instead, maybe getting to become a rock star or something along the way. Or more likely wet yourself and die in a fire.
Latest Sims iteration The Sims 3 has now been confirmed for consoles, enabling PS3 owners to get a taste of the quirky 'life simulator' in what we hope will be a full, undiluted version of the game.
It's likely that The Sims 3 console version will be adapted to suit the more goal-oriented needs of the modern console gamer, so perhaps expect focused tasks and other console-specific challenges.
The Sims 3 will be coming to PlayStation 3 on October 26th 2010. Check out the trailer right here. It's fairly humorous.
