Bringing new multiplayer options, new bosses and the ability to ride Orcas to the table, PC hit Terraria will be coming to the US PlayStation Network next week, bringing its own brand of 2D Minecraft-esque gameplay to consoles.

Set within huge and colourful sandbox, Terraria enables you to shape the world around you with a variety of tools, as you collect a variety of materials and items that you can put to good use.

Terraria will be available to download from PSN in North America on March 26th for $14.99. The game will include a host of new features exclusively for the console version, and will be heading to the UK and Europe at a later date for €14.99/£11.99.

  • it's a really fun game, despite what people might think! its 2D minecraft but better!
  • i have however just seen the price... really?.. i got it for £1.99 on steam...
  • Hopefully they announce it for PS Vita as well, I can see myself enjoying this on the vita.
  • Is it just me or this site catering more and more towards the EU side on everything ?
  • $15? Is it April 1st already? Get real.
  • @4: "Terraria Digging Through to US PSN Next Week" clearly a EU reference. If you mean the EU Plus news, it's not ps3t's fault US have no news yet. If you mean the note that it will hit EU later, than sorry that EU want to know when they get it. Since we don't get some games at all without a reason -.- 15 EUR is 20 USD, that's double what Steam wants. And it's regularly (e.g.now) offered for well under 5 bucks. I like the game, but the pricing is way off.
  • @6 You're right, my derp. Yeah right now it's 2.49 on steam. This is just criminal. ANY computer can run this game, so there's no excuse for not owning it.
  • Seems they figured if Minecraft could get away with $20, they could too.
  • I'm really interested in this. Other than the price tag..
  • i dont think people understand how massive/replayable/open-ended this game is. the $15 price tag (regardless of steam) is a fair price in general
  • @10 as mentioned before it's not $15, it's $20. And that is definitely NOT a fair price tag. You have got to be smoking if you think an old ass game like that is worth $20
  • @11 its 20? that is steep. but still, they have to pay for it to be put on PSN. isnt it like $10,000 or something like that? (last i understood) and what if it doesnt sell much? it all depends, gotta take this into their thought.
  • @1 The 2D minecraft comparison people use doesn't do the game justice. Terraria is a hell of a lot more fun. Aside from working towards and killing the ender dragon, I found minecraft incredibly boring. Terraria's progression is well layed out where as in minecraft you can easily get full diamond gear in only a couple hours.
  • @12 I just hope it doesn't backlash against them when people realize they overpaid for it. Granted it's certainly fun as hell but for that price? Ooof
  • @14 oh i agree, i already have it on steam. hoping its still $15 in the US :/ i was interested in it, especially the splitscreen multiplayer, but if its $20 itll probably have to wait unless a friend buys it for me.
  • the game says 14.99 i wanna know where the source of this 199.99 BS is coming from thee article clearly states its coming too US psn for 14.99 not this 19.99 jargin you all are saying
  • Article says $15 and xbox version is 1200MSP. That is $15. Don't confuse people with the wrong information please.
  • This game does look like it might be alot of fun, unlike ughhh minecraft, so will probably get it in awhile.
  • @3 this is my biggest gripe with Sony. I get they get more sales in Japan, and I also get it cost money to make ports. There are so many games like this already on psn that are good, but are in no way "too much" for the vita. Not just psn, but HD remakes too. I would live to see us and EU see some of the support JP gets for the vita. I know its a lot of small games phone style games, but I feel like if the vita isn't doing well out here, its cause they aren't giving us much to do with it.
  • @16 / 17: For Europeans the price equals 20 USD. 15 EUR is just to much if I can get it for 3 right now and probably have better controls. I rather play it on a PC anyway because I can't imagine the graphics on a big screen across the room. @10: the massiveness of the game is my biggest gripe with it. You basically need a wiki to play it. It's a bit annoying that you can only see the recipies once you have the resources. Especially in the beginning you need to plan ahead a lot because they're pretty limited.
  • I think my friend played this once before... it looks like it anyway. But regardless, I'd like to try this game out myself... so it's on my to grab list when I get my PS3 ^-^
  • Yes, I have been waiting for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Console gamers getting ripped off again! $2 on Steam.
  • Never heard of it, I'll check it out if there's trial.
  • Oh deer god! That price!
  • I was waiting for this game on ps3 but now just seen the price.... I'll pick it up on steam sale at£1.49
  • @ 25 - Deer God? Who would that be. lol Bambi?
  • $15? It's like $2.49 on steam and doesn't exactly take a cutting edge computer to run.
  • This should be cross buy. PS3/PS Vita. This looks perfect for the Vita. What were they thinking, leaving the Vita out of the whole deal? Not even a word on a Vita version. Next thing you know, it's on the Vita, $15 by itself and digital only. Japan on the other hand, would get a hard copy of it.
  • And they've just announced that the updates for the PC version will continue, after being abandoned a long time ago. Great.
  • Loved this on PC. Any time frame for 360?
  • ill buy it after it gets a lower price
  • What time will it be out in Canada, It's 8:am on not on PSN
