Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Trailer Lists the Seven Deadly Blades

Konami has released a couple of new trailers for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, one of which reveals the "seven deadly blades" that Raiden can wield in the game, including his signature 'high-frequency blade' (or HF Blade for short) that can cut through pretty much anything like a hot knife through butter.

The other six are just as tasty when it comes to cutting through flesh, bone, metal or whatever, but have differing properties and attributes. Like the Armour Breaker can slice through armour, the Stun Blade stuns enemies, and erm... the HF Machete comes with a fetching sombrero and poncho combo.

Three of the blades remain classified, but all seven can be unlocked and upgraded, then used to slice up enemies like the Cyborg Troops shown in the second trailer below. Check 'em both out for some more Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance action, ahead of the game's launch on February 19th in North America and February 22nd in Europe. You can still grab the demo and try it yourself too.

  • Bless me with your gift of Blades. Got mine Pre-Ordered Hack "n" Slash master's PG, only a few more weeks now until i can bath is a shower of Cyborg Blood.
  • I'm going pass on this. It just doesn't look good. I played the Demo and I didn't like it. It won't recieve good scores. This game should never of been made.
  • @2 Be prepared to be disappointed this game is going to do well review & sales wise. And by your comment i guess you didn't like the original DMC games.
  • #3 I actually have the DMC HD Collection and have all 3 games Platinum'd. I'm a huge DMC Fan. Since the PS2 days. Just cause I didn't like the Demo of MGS Rising doesn't mean anything. So why don't you shut your mouth.
  • It's not even a true MGS game either.
  • Played the demo, could not get into it. Though the whole sword aim thing was very cool and being able to slice stuff up is pretty sweet, but there is no Metal Gear feeling to the whole thing, other than some of the sound effects. I'm sure it will do well though, it does seem pretty solid. (get it?? n/m)
  • @5...oh the continued stupidity...
  • I so want this!
  • to all the b!tching people this is NOT a MGS game!, at first I tought that this game was going to be great (MGS: Rising), when they changed the name for this one and showed the new gameplay, not gonna lie, I was disappointed but after seeing videos, played the demo and all that I must say I was pretty wrong, I love this now and I'm aware that this is NOT a MGS game, so if you dont like it, don't buy it but I think you're gonna miss a fun and entertaining game
  • I wasn't sure about this game, but I played the demo last week, and immediately preordered it... then played through the demo again, lol. Really looking forward to it now :)
  • This will be the hack&slash of the year, I hope :p
  • I hesitantly played the demo and ended up loving it. It's not MGS 4 but it's fun. After the Raiden cutscene in MGS 4 Act 2 I wanted to play as him SOOOOO badly and know I can.
