Splinter Cell: Blacklist Collector's Edition is Plane Crazy

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is to get one of those OTT mental Collector's Editions that'll cost you a small fortune. It's ridiculously called the 'Splinter Cell: Blacklist Paladin Multi-Mission Aircraft Edition' and bundles the game with a "3-channel twin engine remote-controlled Paladin aircraft". In short, it's a "high-performance" RC plane that actually flies. Whoop.

As well as including the lovely RC Paladin aircraft, the Collector's Edition packs in an 88-page limited edition Splinter Cell Echoes graphic novel, an exclusive poster and a bunch of DLC, including the 'Billionaire's Yacht' co-op map and the 'Upper Echelon Pack' that contains the 'Dead Coast' co-op map, in-game Upper Echelon suit items and Gold sonar goggles. Because gold is like way better than green, darling.

The insane Splinter Cell: Blacklist Paladin Collector's Edition will be available for $169.99 when the game launches on August 20th, 2013. You can check it all out in the trailer below, courtesy of IGN.

  • If its anything like the last collectors edition the DLC code wont work, the plane will crash every 5 seconds and the graphic novel will be missing pages.
  • 0:14 is that menendez??
  • IF there is nothing else fun or interesting coming out that time I might pick up this edition... plane does look pretty cool...
  • these collectors editions are getting to crazy, every dam game has one.
  • I'm not buying that i remember Black ops 2. Yes i could have known. But this one looks a bit like cardboard.
  • Nevermind!!
  • I don't normally go for the editions, but with that PLANE it has to be done. Looks AWESOME!!
  • CE's are the new thing to do, which I'm happy with. It helps expand my collection. This, however, has got to be the craziest one yet. Even the name is crazy. Next thing you know, a CE will actually be called "Super Duper Extremely Limited Ultra Amazing Collector's Edition".
  • So the only bonuses are extra co-op maps, a comic book and gold coloring added to your binoculars? The only thing that sounds interesting are the suit items, but that's only if they're actually useful and not just useless skins. I'll pass on the Super-Special-Sexy-Fancy-Ultra-Kewl Edition and just get the boring old regular edition, then use the money I saved to buy another game.
  • Ubisoft should stop wasting money on extraneous doo-dads and use it towards porting Conviction to the PS3
  • ...and adding Trophies to Double Agent. If Konami can make the effort to do it for MGS4, so can Ubisoft.
