Back in November, a free piece of DLC enabled you to download and drive the Corvette C7 Test Prototype, albeit with heavy camouflage covering the top secret car up. The disguise is set to come off the car this week, as the 2014 Corvette Stingray Final Prototype is unveiled and offered up as free DLC.

"The Polyphony team has had an unforgettable experience getting to know the Corvette Stingray, inside and out, and bringing it into Gran Turismo 5," said Polyphony Digital President, Kazunori Yamauchi. "We’re excited to share our experience with fans and let them feel, explore and drive the Corvette in a way that wasn’t possible until now."

The seventh generation of the legendary sportscar, the V8 Stingray will be available as a free download from the PlayStation Store on January 15th (tomorrow), from 8pm GMT. Check out the trailer and screens below for a closer look.

It is the 2014 model, this isn't something new and surprising.

Isn't something new? You clearly have no knowledge of this car to be saying that.

@3 Please leave xbox troll with 0 posts. Forza doesn't hold a candle to the depth and complexity of GT.

Nice, hope for more cars soon.
@Enlightened 1: Every game has its fans be it Forza or Gran Turismo.

GT5 and Forza are totally different games. Forza is more of an actual racer, if that makes sense. GT5 is more a driving game to make you feel like you're actually driving on the track, whereas Forza is more action oriented, where you can race against people and tune your car to be the fastest. I hope that makes sense. Having said that, that Corvette looks sweet. I have like 1200 cars :)
