With Dead Space 3's launch but a couple of short months away, EA and Visceral Games have released some new screenshots, and a trailer reaffirming that the game can be played as both a traditional single-player Dead Space experience or with a friend in co-op.

The video shows action from each perspective, so whether you're planning to hit the single-player or co-op modes first, you're covered in this latest chunk of gameplay footage. Personally, we'll be tackling both.

Check out the 'Two Ways to Play' trailer and five new screenshots below. Dead Space 3 is out on February 5th, 2013.

This is the video I was looking for to reassure me that we will be getting the Dead Space game we all were hoping for. Although the original news of Co-Op wasn’t the best news I had heard for this franchise, it looks like they did a good job with it. I’ll for sure play both single and Co-Op. Once last thing I need to hear…COLLECTOR’S EDITION announcement.

If you're gonna die, die with your boots on.

No word on a demo though.

@8 I was under the impression that the cutscenes were different and perhaps certain areas were different between singleplayer & co-op.
But don't quote me on it, I might be all wrong.

#9: I believe you are correct for the most part. Visceral commented that there is no difference in the story between single player and Co-Op except for some Carver additional material that provides some information into his life. I also understood that there will be some extra side mission in Co-Op only but nothing that would affect the story line.

The only reason co-op is in this games as one there multiplayer was not as good as they hoped so thats over for them, and two they want a piece of the DLC bandwagon. Now if 10 is right no real difference between the single player and co op, really is that the best they could do? now if the co op had a completely different story like FarCry3 had i could see the point in that but other wise it's a complete waste of time that could of been added to the single player. And i bet we see co op DLC because really thats all this is about, where as they could simply add single player DLC.

#12 Visceral certainly didn't say a different campaign for Co-Op. Had heard some extra missions when doing Co-Op only. Maybe that will be thier gig, new DLC missions.
#12 Online Co-Op only. No split screen.
