The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC Coming to PS3 in 2013, Dawnguard and Hearthfire to Follow

With Dragonborn being the best received DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to date, Bethesda has decided that it'll be releasing the expansion as the first dose of content for PS3 in early 2013, before delivering previous add-ons Dawnguard and Hearthfire afterwards.

"On PS3 in particular, we turned our attention to Dragonborn, as we thought it was the best content to release first, and we didn’t want folks to wait longer," reads an update on the Bethesda Blog.

"Once it’s ready to go for everyone, we’ll continue our previous work on Hearthfire and Dawnguard for PS3. Each one takes a lot of time and attention to work well in all circumstances and all combinations of DLC. Once we have a better idea of release timing and pricing, we’ll let you know."

And of course, we'll let you know too. Dragonborn is coming to PS3 in early 2013. Hopefully, much earlier than (even) later, eh?

yes it will be out in early 2013 and then they will spend the next 6 months fixing the million bugs in it to make it playable

I must admit, I would prefer a GOTY version of Skyrim with all the DLCs in disk.

Just makes more sense at this point.

#2 It does for me too. I'll wait for a complete/GOTY edition before I consider buying it.

It'll be next X-mas before a complete edition of this buggy and poorly managed mess is released. I'll be waiting until then.

By then it better be cheaper to get the first to or...or something to say sorry for us ps3 fans!

...or bundle them up, idk, i know making them cheaper hurts the so called 360 exclusivity deal but gotta do something -_-

If they don't come out then their already battered reputation will be in tatters.

I really don't want to go back to skyrim at this point, but I also don't want to lose my 100% trophy completion in the game...

They're making it sound like they could've released Dawnguard and Hearthfire whenever they wanted...so what about all the "problems" they claimed to have?

Hearthfire and Dawnguard should be included with Dragonborn for the same price. They have enough Microsoft cash up their behinds by now.

Just release all 3 at the same time it would be much easier that way.

General consensus seems to be, "Way too late for anyone to care." I agree, and it's quite sad. They wasted time pandering to Microsoft and neglected issues on the PS3 version.

Alas, Bethesda will learn nothing from this and we'll just continue to see the same mistakes repeated in the future. This is what happens when money enters the equation and the quality of your products isn't the highest priority.

Yeah I think that sums it up, too little, too late. I'm refusing to buy Fallout 4 on the grounds that your right, Bethesda will learn nothing and the next Fallout game will be a buggy mess on the PS3 with all the DLC never coming as Bethesda bring out excuses every month or so as to why we have no DLC. People are calling Far Cry 3 "Skyrim with guns"

I think I stand for most PS3 gamers when I say
Far Cry 3 > Skyrim

So basically the DLC wasn't being released a month later.
And this basically says they're not working on the DLC that doesn't work til they've released Dragonborn.. Then they'll start again. Wow, cool.
Bethesda really know how to appeal to their fans. Making us wait til 2013 for any DLC. Shit cunts..

Am I the only one who isn't bothered that the dlc's a little (bwahaha) too late? I think Skyrim is an awesome game, love the whole game, all random encounters.
But I dislike the gigantic saves, loading times and lag from time to time.
All in all, this is by far the best game in my opinion.

I'm glad I didn't preorder Skyrim at 11.11.11., now I can wait for the GOTY version and buy it used. Maybe Elder Scrolls VI will have its day one DLC late for PS3 players?

I loved Skyrim, I plugged nearly 400 hours into the game, about 100 of which were post-plat.

However, Bethesda can suck fuzzy little monkey balls if they think I would be willing to pay for DLC thats now been around the block more than a cheap hooker.

They lost my money for the DLC, they lost my money on any future titles they release at launch, they MIGHT get my money when they release future titles in GOTY format.

I will not be treated as a second class gamer just because PS3 is my platform of choice, if they, as a developer, choose to give preferential treatment to other platforms, be it 360 or PC, then they simply dont deserve my money.

Period.

@ . People are calling Far Cry 3 "Skyrim with guns"

I hate things like this as Skyrim & Farcry3 are completely different games, ones a RPG and the other is a FPS, it's like calling little red riding hood the next best horror. Anyway Sony i mean Bethesda has put alot of time into the PS3 version of DLC for it not to come out, it's always has been a matter of when. And after all this people will still go out and buy the DLC weather it's full price or not, which is unbelievable when you think about it.

@18 But I dislike the gigantic saves, loading times and lag from time to time.
All in all, this is by far the best game in my opinion.

You totally forgot to say some where unable to play Skyrim properly, thats why you have not seen the DLC.

Should be free for ps3 users... BUt of course, it's bethesda, they couldn't care less for ps3 players.. They would even overprice the dlc as to shit on our console again... Fuck you bethesda.. I seriously hope no one buys the dlc.. Who the hell plays skyrim on ps3 anyway, with the issues?

what a bunch of whiny entitled little brats you guys are. this proves how broken the dlc model is. remember oblivion? dlc didn't come out for that for a long time after it came out. people didn't whine too little too late when that happened. they bought it and loved it because they wanted to play it...not some shitty reason like being ocd and needing a 100% trophy completion to feel good about yourself.

btw I know oblivion didn't have trophies. I'm referring to the Xbox/ PC version. there was a long gap between game release and dlc.

@24 You're missing the point, the point being that xbox users have had the dlc for ages already and ps3 users have been shafted over.

Anyway I'm glad I held off for a goty edition, didn't realise I'd b waiting this long though *sigh*

Well ok a reviewer called it "Skyrim with guns" it was a guy from Machinima, my point was just that if it is Skyrim with guns then Far Cry 3 would be the better since it actually works (for now).

For the record I don't think Far Cry 3 is like Skyrim with guns.
