At EA's spring showcase last week, we managed to catch up with Dead Space 2's Executive Producer, Steve Papoutsis, to talk all things Dead Space.

Being the video geniuses we are - self proclaimed by the way - we decided to shoot the interview in the darkest of areas in the spirit of the game... or, if you don't believe that, we had to make do by catching the local fireflies, sticking them in a jar and using them as our only source of light, Yeah, we did that... Orrrrr, if you don't believe that, then, that's where we were stuck.

Talking to Papoutsis, we sought to get Visceral Games' main objectives for Dead Space 2, why Isaac now has a voice and a face, and whether they're planning a Left 4 Dead style versus mode for their multiplayer. All that and so much more!

If that's not enough and you didn't check out our first impressions last week, check it out now. Go on, it's full of lovely words.

Isaac speaks! always though it was annoying that he never spoke in the first game.

Visceral Games absolutely nailed the survival horror genre with the 1st one in my opinion, i actually stopped playing because my girlfriend would no longer sit with me. I'd say a heap load of kudos is inbound for these dudes.

I'm pretty damn excited for this game. The reason they gave Issac a voice is pretty resonable though..

demo sounds awesome hope to play something SOON!!!! but i think they got Issac backwards, they should of gave him a voice in the 1st one and the events of that would make him not wanna talk becuase that drove him to the brink of insanity or something, but that wont stop me from getting this a week or two prior to the release ;) i like knowing people :D

Kudos on the interview....I have a feeling that there will be a trophy for either killing or impaling more than one enemy with the nail gun...And also I love to hear when developers mention that they will give a release date when the game is awesome or when it is sequel worthy. Can't wait for this =]

Are you serious? Did you really expect a HORROR game called Dead Space to put a big focus on the action? That's why there's so much "creeping around" (as you put it) you idiot.

Also, the enemies are about as silly as the enemies in the Aliens franchise (ie, not very). Please think before you type up such idiotic comments.
