Bethesda Still Working on Skyrim PS3 Content, Is Still Coming to PS3

The issues and furore surrounding The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's DLC on PS3 is one of the hotly contested subjects of 2012.

When is it coming? What the hell is going on? Why don't we have it yet? They're all questions that need to be answered and although Bethesda said that they were "close" to delivering the PS3 content on November 8th, they're obviously not close enough. It's the November 28th today.

Bethesda's VP of PR and Marketing, Pete Hines, has been attempting to answer a few of your concerns on Twitter recently and reasserted that Bethesda are still working on the Skyrim DLC for PS3.

"Yes. We continue to work on it. And content will be coming to PS3. Will give details when I have them," tweeted Hines.

"People are frustrated, which is understandable. And they want to let someone know. I'm that someone." he followed up.

When will we have more news? Well, Hines had something to say on that too, noting that they won't say anything "until a few more thing become clearer on our end," but even the PR and marketing guru said he didn't know when that will be.

If it helps, you're not really missing much at the moment. I know that doesn't help, but at least I try, right? RIGHT!? Right!

I like @4's idea, but sadly that'll mean we get it better than 360 owners...who have that exclusivity deal going which is preety much invalid XD

Thus they can't do it, but...BUT THEY BETTER DO SOMETHING TO PLEASE US!!

"We're close....we're working on's coming......" Blah blah blah.

I don't want to hear about it again until u have a set in stone release date. I'm tired of all the smoke you guys are blowing up the collective PS3 gamers ass.

And #4 is right. If dlc is ever delivered to us, it better be at a discount. But I doubt it since shivering isles is still $30 lol what a joke

That's an online store thing. The Oblivion GOTY is less than that for the game, Shivering Isles, and Knights of the Nine.

@10 No, many times I've seen retail games where the GOTY edition is half the price of the regular game.

I will actually skip Skyrim if they don't end up releasing the DLC for PS3, and not because I want the DLC but because no other company's or games have had this problem, meaning the entire thing is just too fishy.

I'll just be waiting for a GOTY with ALL DLC, just like #13. Till they get that out, I won't get Skyrim.

I loved Skyrim and hardly had any problems with the game at all, except for a few freezing issues and backward flying dragons.
but I really wish Bethesda would quit talking bullshit about the dlc. its coming all the time just don't cut it with me. all I want is a confirmed date, that's all.

@13, I agree. I call BS on them not being able to code for a system that's been around for five years, despite having released and published several games for it. Definitely something else to this story.

Why don't they just scrap the DLC for PS3 and concentrate on a GOTY Edition which includes the main game plus all DLC packs.

Surely this makes more sense?

How can they focus on a GOTY version with the DLC if they can't code the DLC packs in the first place?

I just cannot believe playstation owners are still willing to buy the DLC after one Bethesda knowingly sold a broken port of the PS3 version, and two a year later and no DLC for PS3 fans. Bethesda must love there PS3 fans treat them like shit and they will still buy owner broken products.

@25 what a truly ignorant thing to say. Do you work for Bethesda? Do you know what goes on there? If they were really giving the middle finger to PS3 fans they would say "Oh well DLC won't work...sorry we won't be making it for PS3". Instead they are STILL working on it and promising we will eventually get it.

Also to anyone thinking this will be cheaper. Don't count on it. For one, if we got it at a cheaper price ...Xbox360 and pc fans would throw a fit. And rightfully so. Their main game fanbase is 360 and PC don't want to anger them. Secondly, DLC never goes down in price. Not withstanding specials and sales, it remains the same price over time. I really do not think that just because we had to wait longer, it entitles us to get it for free or cheaper. I will gladly pay full price. Because i want to play it and I can choose to. I am not so naive to think that I am owed something by Bethesda just because they had trouble with the platform.

You know, I've been holding off getting Skyrim for over a year now because I was waiting for the inevitable "GOTY Edition", but with all this drama I don't even know if it's worth it.

Here's hoping they make the DLC free for PS+ members for a week or two. That should make most people happy and still not piss off the 360/PC users TOO much.

Well, I guess Bethesda gets bonus points for not giving up. I'd assume that they are writing custom code for the PS3 since the ported 360 data won't work, although I could be wrong. Oh well, at this point I wonder how many PS3 owners of Skyrim will actually invest in the DLC, or how many people even have interest in the DLC at this point in time. The longer they wait, the less PS3 players will be interested in dropping money in DLC. This could be a situation where Bethesda would be smart in cutting their losses and just say "we goofed, sorry PS3 players, we'll make it up to you in the future" or something along those lines.

Platinumed Skyrim in one run, don't really care for the DLC. Vampires & werewolves; get the Twilight dork out of your development department. I'd rather play Oblivion anyway. Skyrim was a good game, but Oblivion was superior.

Bring out better DLC and I might consider purchasing it - if you can figure out how to get it to work properly on the PS3.

@27 how much more of a middle finger to PS3 fans do you want? they knowingly sold a broken port to us precious PS3 fans. No matter which way you look at that it is totally unprofessional & unethical.

what a truly ignorant thing to say.

Oh sorry i did not realize that truth was ingnorant, and this is totally why things like this will never change because of poeple like you fact.

at this point almost 13 months after launch the DLC better fucking be free to we PS3 owners. Stood in line midnight when it launched in the damn cold. On top of the broke ass save files and now no DLC a year after release. Less worrying about money from dishonored more about fixing your own shit

Anyone who followed Fallout 3, and the nonsense with it's dlc already knows how this is going to go. Skyrim PS3 dlc will come out when they are done putting any and all dlc on the 360 and PC.

Then after a year or two wait, they'll charge full price, and people will thank them for it.

@27 are u kidding? Bethesda does OWE us. I paid 60 dollars for a glitch ridden game. It was enjoyable no doubt, but they botched it. So amends should be made. And who cares if shit box owners get pissed. They weren't stuck with a glitched game and a DLC that could be, might be, sort of soon, maybe in the future, wow a blue car, released.
