Brink Dev Splash Damage Teases New Game Announcement

Splash Damage looks set to announce a new game next week.

The Brink developer’s website has been updated with a logo and a date and time, pointing to a reveal on the 29th November at 11:29.

But what exactly is this mystery game? It doesn’t look like it’s related to Brink at all, nor does it share any ties with the Quake or Wolfenstein franchises the studio has worked on in the past.

It may even be a mobile title, following the company’s decision to target smart phones with RAD soldiers, an asynchronous turn-bases strategy title.

Who knows, eh? Guess we’ll have to wait until next week to find out. Until then, speculate away!

P.S - I liked Brink. Fingers crossed they make a new one some day.

  • Not to offend the fans or anything, but after the disappointment that Brink was, I wouldn't want this game to be related to Brink in anyway. Of course I understood the story and loved the new elements they tried to put in, but if it's going to have the same bugs and problems, count me out.
  • @1 I agree except for the part where you mentioned your love for the "new" elements they tried to put it, I know I played through the game start to finish before selling it through pure disappointment but Im struggling to figure out what exactly these elements were, there was nothing there except the parkour which was crap, I would even go as far as to say I enjoyed and saw more potential in Bulletstorm than Brink could achieve, lets hope they have learnt their lesson with this new game.
  • Q-Bert* set in a post apocolyptic world. Look at the background. Classic bert staging ;D Interested to see what this is though. Doom 4? Maybe they're helping with it.
  • I hope it's better than Brink, that game was one big let down.
  • Brink 2: Brink Harder. The game had some good ideas, but sadly every one of them was pulled off in such a bad way, the game itself was just, well, terrible. I paid £2 for the limited edition brand new at Christmas, and I STILL felt ripped off. ... Maybe this is an iOS/Android game lol :P
  • Holy fuck the AI in Brink sucked and I STILL can't beat it on hard :( Can somebody help me? I need a good bunch to replace the AI. My PSN is FatalKrouzer.
  • @6 You cant beat the part where you have to defuse the missile hacking it or the whole game? Anyway, check its forums, there are plenty of tips for beating it alone. Im telling you this because everyone I know, including myself, sold the game after platting it.
  • i actually liked brink, granted i didnt buy it, i just rented it from redbox if i find it somewhere dirt cheap and i mean dirt freaking cheap i would buy it so i could get the plat. currently trophy list is at 70%. anyways i wouldnt mind a brink 2
  • Brink was a pretty fun game, the MP just died too quickly because of launch problems :
  • @2 What I meant for the "new" elements was the parkour (Which wasn't executed well) and some extra stuff here and there. I can't really say that it's new, but I only say it because not many FPS games had such things. What really makes this game tragic for me is that it had potential, it had interesting concepts and ideas to go with, but the lack of a good story mode (Which was multiplayer like BTW), bad Ai and lack of dedication ruined the game. Bulletstorm is the perfect example of different ideas executed well, it's not perfect, but it creates new ways to play aside from just shooting people. If Brink had gotten more careful attention, it might have really become something worth remembering and it could have had a decent impact. I wouldn't mind seeing Brink 2, but there are a lot of holes to fix up before that game even get's the green light for development.
  • So who's super excited to receive another game from the brilliant minds behind BRINK...? Not this guy...
  • Brink is one of the funniest games i've ever played. Just because you couldn't kill whore it got horrible reviews. Would love a brink 2.
  • To be honest i beat this game, while i agree it was not as great as the hype was, and had the bugs in the game for the first few months, their was a patch that solved that problem and made the game run a lot smoother and fixed most of the problems with the game, and truly made the game from disappointing to a decent game with potential down the road. I know Brink 2 will be much better than the 1st, i just hope people can at least give it a chance.
  • @14 I won't lie, the patch really solved some issues, including a few with the Ai, but it still didn't fully fix it and ultimately failed to save the game.
  • @15 i know what you are saying, there is some problems, but it was not as bad as it was originally. One thing though i will admit if Splash Damage had two more months to work out the bugs and things like that, it probably would have lived up to it's name a little bit better than it is now.

  • I'm one of the few people who loved Brink, even when it was first released. Not really looking forward to this new game despite that.
