A demo of Criterion's latest foray onto the city streets breaking the traffic laws with Need for Speed: Most Wanted is available to download now, offering you the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage, before letting you loose with a further three Jack Spots.

With three stretches of Fairhaven's city roads to tear down, you can sample the Porsche 911 Carrera S, the Audi R8 GT Spyder and the Ford Focus RS500 with the opportunity to earn up to 50,000 Speed Points that you can then carry over into the full game should you decide to go out and buy it.

You can download the Need for Speed: Most Wanted demo from the PlayStation Network now and find out whether it scratches your, erm... need for speed. Need for Speed: Most Wanted is out now. Oh, there's a new trailer for the demo too. Look:

I want this game, but with AC3, Lego LotR, PS All stars on my horizon, I don't see myself getting it anytime soon unfortunately.

Big whoop! Its shite anyway. Poor mans burnout paradise but with real cars that all handle like a brick on 4 fruit pastelles. Small city, only 5 races per car, n terrible gameplay. Only redeeming feature is that it has decent graphics, apart from the windows that look like clingfilm

@#4 - While it isn't quite that bad, it certainly isn't great (sorry #5)

There are way too many bugs, and poorly implemented features. It just lacks polish, and really was a disappointment.

I wish they had focused on a patch to fix some of the glitches as opposed to a demo.

I didn't like was there was no story at all. Also I like the days where NFS used real actors and had cutscenes. It brought so much more to the game, making it more enjoyable and worthwhile. Now its just "beat this car to unlock it"

The game just came out, surely there will be patches in the next few months. Don't count them out just because they decide to put out a demo 0_o

This was a day one buy for me... how I wished I had waited. This is not worth the 60 bucks they are charging. It under achieves in many areas. Most cars handle exactly the same way, even with their respective "mods". The cars do not change visually with the mods and quite frankly, any car becomes a beast with Reinforced Pro Body/ Reinflate Pro Tires. With in 3 seconds of running over a spike, the tires fix themselves. The AI is very poor and can be easily be evaded in any car at any level. Multiplayer is lacking because of CONSTANT disconnects from autolog. What they dont tell you: If your not connected to autolog, your stats are not saved(gates/billboards/even MW cars). They will only count if you are connected.

@8
It's not a trial. There is a 60 minute trial that was released when the game came out. This is an actual game demo for all PS3 owners.

I was so hyped when this was announced. It killed me playing it; this is a Burnout, it has nothing to do with NfS.

Sadly, the more I think about it. Strip the game down to about half the cars and you got a high end PSN game in my eyes. This isnt Burnout 2 nor should it have anything to do with the Burnout series. This is well below a Burnout, even a NFS game.

@12 Play the demo and see for yourself...

@14 I wonder if this is Criterion's way of sticking to the NFS fans... thus making their Burnout 2 (when ever that may be) that much better!

They still make these? I haven't played an NFS game since the original Most Wanted in 2005 (which I remember enjoying). This sounds like a way overused series, but I'll give the demo a go.

If they wanted to reboot an NFS game they should have chosen Underground, everything since has just been gash with added cops, except for Prostreet which was just gash. This is yet another game which is fun until the cheap AI tricks used instead of proper programming start to grate. Took about 2 races for me, glad I didn't buy it.

Sad to hear the negative things about this, I had high hopes. Guess I'll be saving my money then, at least for now.
