Having been subjected to a last-minute delay by SEGA that made developer Platinum Games rather unhappy, Anarchy Reigns has finally been given a proper release date for western audiences. We previewed it back at E3 in 2011.

The crazed multiplayer brawler launched in Japan back in July, and despite being fully localised and ready to go, SEGA decided to hold Anarchy Reigns back, even though it owuld have launched amid the relatively quiet summer period.

Now Anarchy Reigns will be heading west in January 2013, with the game scheduled for launch in North America on January 8th, 2013 before arriving in Europe on January 11th, 2013. It'll be priced at the lower RRP of £19.99/€29.99/$29.99, which is good, right?

I'm just upset that Sega felt they had to make this instead of MadWorld 2, which is what this game is, just not on a Nintendo console like it started out as.

$30? That is a fucking steal, definitely makes up for the game being delayed outside Japan.

I'm with LionSquid. I would have easily paid full price day one... then again, I would have paid $60 January 8th, as well, lol. Its Platinum, after all. Top notch gaming, guaranteed.

It's nice that we'll get it at a reduced price considering the unecessary long ass wait we've had to go through for it.

This will officially be the last time I'm supporting Sega. Sorry to have a different aspect in their practices, but I think they've been making far too many mistakes and bad moves the past few years. I really don't want to support them anymore after this.

After Sonic Adventure 2 HD, they pretty much have nothing left to offer me. Unless Platinum actually chooses to continue working with this piss-poor publishing company after Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101. Which I'll be really surprised if they do.
