Thought you were finished with the joyful, hellish torture of Dark Souls? Think again. Prepare to die all over again, as Namco Bandai has today slapped a proper, official date on the Artorias of the Abyss DLC that debuted with Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition.

Featuring more torturous dungeons, insane boss battles and more challenging, teeth-grinding gameplay, the Artorias of the Abyss DLC will also include an enhanced online player vs. player mode for all-out fights to the death against one another. There'll also be huge new maps, new environments, new bosses, new enemies, new NPCs to interact with, and a new arsenal of weapons and armour as part of the DLC.

Prepare to return to the darkness of Lordran once more when Dark Souls' Artorias of the Abyss is available to download from the PlayStation Network on October 24th in Europe and Australasia. A North American release still has yet to be revealed. Check out the trailer again below for a look at the DLC.

  • I own this game on PS3 but I just bought the PC version to get this DLC early; I think I'll buy it again on PS3 though. Anything I can do to support such fantastic game design.
  • "Featuring more torturous dungeons, insane boss battles and more challenging, teeth-grinding gameplay" I love that this is the selling point with this game. I finished Demon's Souls awhile ago, but haven't considered getting Dark Souls after the torture I happily went through in the first game. With this announcement, I'm now thinking "Hell Yeah!!" :D
  • Cannot wait until the 24th excellent game.
  • Awesome, sooner than expected. Falls soon after Resident Evil 6 and just before Black Ops II as well, so something to fill the gap ^_^
  • Very much looking forward to this. A year on, and im still playing Dark Souls. Great game.
  • Counting down the days. I seriously can't wait ^_^
  • It's gonna hurt and I'm gonna love it. Wait, what?
  • BRING IT ON!!!!!
  • Great carnt wait for this dlc, hopefully they nerf a few things though first like lightning weapons and giant armour ninjas, i very rarely run into anyone without them. Other than that sure the dlc will be just as great as the main game
  • North America's release is October 23. Saw it on Gamespot.
  • Why can't I find any PvP people in the DLCs' battle of (whatever it's called)?
