Metal Gear Solid HD Collection has been out for a while now, but you'll be able to grab each game from the compendium later this month as separate downloads from the PlayStation Network.

August 21st will see the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection itself heading to PSN in North America, while it's tentatively tagged for a February 2013 release in Europe at present. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will also be available to purchase separately from the PS Store for PS3 and PS Vita.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will then be available a week later on August 28th, hitting the PlayStation Network, meaning the whole MGS HD Collection will be out individually. A PS3-exclusive bundle comprising of Peace Walker, MGS2, and MGS3 will be out on the same day as well

Why 6 months gap between US and Europe? It's the same game (apart from the language options)

Destiny just does not want me to get these games, does it....

February 2013 for Europe? Seriously? The HD Collection will be really cheap by then so they need to sell those at a REALLY low price point to make people interested in the PSN versions... although I doubt that will be the case :/

The title of this article is a little misleading. I was all happy because I thought it was MGS1 getting the HD treatment.
Anyway, great collection for fans of the MGS. If you yet to play any of them I recommend MGS3. It's one of the best games I have ever played, and probably one of the most emotionally heavy stories to boot. For vets, Peace Walker is amazing and not to be missed.

I was hoping the update on the front page was announcing an HD Essentials Collection for MGS, or is it too soon?

I don't care what comes with it, as long as one of the games is an HD-ified Twin Snakes. That would be so godlike.

I don't think a lot of people are waiting for a download that weighs around 50 GB.

And why again a gap between US and EU release? This always happens with MGS games (except one or two).
With the HD disc release I COULD bring up some understanding but this is bullshit, the games are finished. Only a few minute changes and they could upload. This has something to with money... meanwhile Europeans are fucked once again.

TTS HD update/port will never happen. It is not 100% Kojima's work, and I believe not owned by Konami.

Good. I hate MGS2 and now I don't have to get it with the disk.

@10, they should release it in HD on the WiiU, that might make me actually buy that thing...

Great! I was wondering this just yesterday. I have the HD collection for Vita but it doesn't have Peace Walker. Now I can finally get around to it on the big screen.

@14 How big is L.A. Noire then?
I've actually been thinking about buying it digitally on the PSN since it's 20 euro's right now for the complete edition, and I sure won't be able to find it for that price at retail.
Although I'd rather have it on disc since I only own a 80G PS3 but this still seems like a nice deal.
