Sony has made reference to a PlayStation Vita version of Gran Turismo 5 in a recent customer survey.

"You told us earlier how interested you would be in buying the PS Vita version of the latest Gran Turismo game," says the survey. "Knowing that you might be able to get a discount on the PS3 version of the game, how interested are you now in the PS Vita version?"

The survey also detailed hypothetical cross-platform offers for the PlayStation Plus service, including a free alternate platform copy of purchased games.

"Imagine that as part of PlayStation Plus, every time you bought a game on either PS3 or PS Vita, you would be entitled to get the game on the other console absolutely free. So, if you bought Resistance on PS Vita, you could download Resistance on PS3 for free. Or if you got FIFA on PS3, you could download the PS Vita version for free."

A previous customer customer survey revealed Sony’s plans to introduce a tiered membership system to PlayStation Plus.

  • Just as long as it's better than the PSP version of GT.
  • I would buy it day 1 if they bring this out
  • This potential new PS+ functionality would be awesome !
  • So "The Real Driving Simulator" is making one appearance on the PS3 this gen, but two on handhelds - where it's physics and graphics are totally wasted. Brilliant. I'm getting an Xbpox 360 so I can play not one, not two, but three Forza games this gen. I don't even think there are too many GT fanboys who bother to claim that GT5 is better than Forza any more.
  • @4 Well go to Xbox then. You might want to learn how to spell it before you go there though. Lots of 360 players aren't too forgiving. Happy trails!
  • @3 i absolutely agree. If all games were like Motor storm RC it would be great an youd get double plats :) Plus id be able to play Vita games on the PS3 maybe... That kinda defeats the purpose though :/
  • Like the idea but racing simulator's are always boring IMO
  • @4 Why would you want to buy pretty much the same game that many times it's like cod a new one coming every year at least with GT taking so long for them to make a new one you at least want it and don't feel like they are just cheating money out of us and i think a Vita GT could be nice have you seen the power it has? Oh and don't mean to put you down or anything if you like forza then good for you
  • @4 also the 2 handhelds are of different generations. PSP is the same Gen as PS3 (7th) and Vita is 8th Gen so its actually only 1 handheld and 1 home console GT game per generation atm
  • I really really really hope Polyphony Digital doesn't allocate any resources to a Vita game. I am dying for more content for GT5. I still spend a few hours every night racing online with friends.
  • @4, you are actually right, Forza passed GT but nobody wants to admit it... and you picked a tough forum crowd to preach that too! hehe
  • @4 bye, your moaning won't be missed on here. I still think GT5 is better than Forza games, GT5 is more of a sim than the arcade Forza series of games. Onlt thing Forza has over GT5 is the fact that you can put graphics on the cars and the online auction.
  • *Only
  • That souds a goos deal 2 games for price of 1 awesome
  • Only reason they are doing this is to get Vita sales up as if you own a PS3 it means your Vita games are free. This is maybe the main reason that the games on PS store are £10 more than in the shops to cover this.
