In Stores This Week Around the World

This week it's back to business as normal after the insanity of E3 and we've got a number of notable releases to get stuck into. The newest and freshest of all of these is Lollipop Chainsaw, Grasshopper Manufacture's cheerleader and chainsaw-fueled exercise in oddity. It's the only game to hit all regions this week and is bound to inspire lots of "Are Games Sexist?" headlines across the gaming press. The most important question, however, is "Is it any good?" We'll find out soon enough.

Elsewhere, Australia gets a belated release of Game of Thrones. The middling RPG may have picked up some mixed reveiews, but those still keen to live out their adventures in Westeros will want to overlook that, especially as the TV series is now in post-Season 2 hiatus. I for one seriously can't wait for its return and the RPG may plug the gap nicely, despite its shortcomings. The King in the North!

Meanwhile, North America can get behind the wheel of Codemasters' DiRT Showdown this week. A spin-off of the developer's well-received rally sim series, Showdown itself has been on the receiving end of some admiring words. In our review Rich said, "Unapologetically brash, bold and loud, DiRT Showdown is Codemasters' racing id unleashed. And it's freakin' great." Sounds like a recommendation to me.

Scroll down for all of this week's releases, including some tasty looking Vita titles.

  • I'm ready to kill zombies with a chainsaw and watch hearts and rainbows shoot out of their necks.
  • Persona 4: The Golden needs to hurry up and get an english release!
  • Persona 4 Golden is mine Wednesday night :D!
  • Have to wait a few more months for persona 4 sadly =[
  • Had intended to get DiRT Showdown, but with the delay, I may wait. Was able to get Lollipop Chainsaw on promotion for $10 off plus $10 reward zone, so equivalent to $39.99 new. No discounts anywhere yet for DiRT, so I will see if the price drops.
  • @5 Dude- Dirt Showdown has been 39.99 on sale at Amazon for over a week now. You fail at surfing the internet.
  • Don't live in the US, and amazon.com won't ship to Canada. It is not $39.99 on amazon.ca, but yes, I could get it for $49.99 from there. In the past haven't had best of success with amazon.ca, but perhaps I will try them again. Usually Best Buy or Future Shop have better deals.
  • @7 Apologies - I ignorantly assumed you were in the US. I fail.
  • @8 lol, no problem. Generally that would be a fair assumption. And in all honesty, pricing on games is virtually identical US vs Can, in fact often new game pricing here is better than in the US. With Best Buy Reward Zone deals I can usually get at least $10 off most new releases, and with the recent E3 deals, got $20 a lot of upcoming titles. I don't think to look on Amazon as the Ca version sucks compared to the US version, but that is a good reminder nonetheless. I'm gonna plat Lollipop first and see if DiRT hasn't dropped in price, or may see if Future Shop has a trade 2 get it free. I know that Gravity Rush is free with the trade of one select PS3 title - I looked at the list, and Infamous 2 is on it, which also happens to be free on PS Plus - so I can trade my disc copy, download it free from Plus, and get a free copy of Gravity Rush. Win!
  • Another bad week fer new releases.
  • @10 Nothing new there then....sadly
