Oh, dear... Here's one that completely fell by the wayside earlier this week. City Interactive revealed the contents of its two Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Special Editions a couple of days ago, offering a pair of premium versions of the game to choose from.

Here's the contents of the premium Collector's Edition, which comes packaged in a "prestigiously produced" folded box:

  • A steelbook copy of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2
  • A ‘Sniper Tactics and History’ hardback book, developed in collaboration with military experts with combat experience
  • A lavish artbook with never before published illustrations of environments and characters from the game
  • An official soundtrack CD
  • The DSR-1 in-game sniper rifle for multiplayer modes
  • The Vintorez in-game sniper rifle – AKA the ‘Thread cutter’ – for use in multiplayer modes
  • Four exclusive multiplayer playable characters (Diaz, Medox, Marinov and Marine Team Leader)

And here's the contents of the slightly less collectible-packed Limited Edition that packages the game in "beautiful O-card packaging", whatever that is (we reckon it's a fancy way of saying 'card sleeve'):

  • The Vintorez in-game sniper rifle – AKA the ‘Thread cutter’ – for use in multiplayer modes
  • Anderson – game protagonist, ex Delta Force sniper wearing an exclusive ghillie suit – as a playable character in multiplayer modes

So, there you have it. Two different special editions to choose from for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, which is due out on August 21st, 2012. There's images of both editions of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 below and we've also embedded today's Sarajevo trailer again, in which the game's protagonist confesses that "sometime's I just like to blow shit up." Fair enough.

I like steelbook cases but all the extra stuff is "meh"... so I guess it'll be standard edition... once I've checked all the US reviews!

I'll just stick with the normal edition because there are other special/collectors editions that i want more like Assassin's creed 3, Darksiders 2 and Far cry 3.

@6 Not complaining at all, just used to a £40+ (high street) price regardless of quality. I'm all for free pricing, RRP's used to be good to prevent unfair markups but now they're more often used to justify selling poor games at top whack. Loved SEV2 too :)

I'm not too bothered for the collectors edition, I'll just go for the limited edition, if it's the same price that is (A lot of limited editions are the same price as the normal game)

It looks alright to me, but after playing Sniper Elite V2, i don't know how this game can top that. But i will just wait to see the reviews.

That book looks awesome. I heard the first game had some flaws, but maybe i should give this one a chance.

at #5 its only £24.95 on zavvi and with 10% codes they give out like candy would be £22.45 ish.

and yes, o-card is just a slipcase. ill probably get the limited edition when cheap as i have the steelbook bulletproof edition of the first game that i got cheap from zavvi, may as well have them matching.

but just like the first one, ill only play the offline campaign.
