Max Payne 3 will be out in a couple of weeks, and if you've played the game and dig the music, then you'll be happy to know that you can get the game's soundtrack, as it'll be available digitally the week after Max Payne 3 launches.

Composed and recorded by LA-based outfit, HEALTH, Max Payne 3's official soundtrack features the band's "unique blend of rock, powerful drums and electronic soundscapes", taking influences from the game's Brazil setting, Max's hometown of New York and the original games' dark themes.

“Working on the soundtrack to Max Payne 3 was a great experience,” said John Famiglietti of HEALTH. “Rockstar gave us the freedom to bring our own sound to Max’s dark story, and we’re really proud of the results.”

You'll be able to download the single "Tears" from iTunes on May 15th, then the entire official Max Payne 3 soundtrack by HEALTH will be available digitally on May 23rd. Meanwhile, if you've pre-ordered the Special Edition, you'll be getting the soundtrack on CD. Max Payne 3 is out on May 15th in North America and May 18th in Europe.

I really like the music in the trailers so far. It caught my attention right away. Rockstar always does a fantastic job with the music in their games and it adds so much to the games. I still listen to the rdr soundtrack. I'll never forget crossing into Mexico for the first time listening to ' Far Away', returning home to 'Compass', and the music throughout.

I have to buy this game just to find out why the protagonist either has hair, hair and a beard or bald and a beard.

Because its a fairly used tough guy/action/thriller movie staple.

Good guy has bad things happen to him, and to symbolize his descent away from himself and his humanity, he shaves his head, grows a beard, etc.

Ive always thought its a nice touch. Makes the protagonist seem less able to stand by his former moral codes, like if he has to do something that he wouldnt be able to do as himself.

Perfect example is Kevin Bacon in Death Sentence. Great underrated film. Outstanding acting by Kevin Bacon, who is always underrated, too. I mean, he was the BOMB as Sebastian Shaw in XMen First Class, amirite?

OT, cannot wait for MP3!!!

@3 and4 to be exact it's called a beard of sorrow.

Also yes Death Sentence is a great movie in the vein of Taxi Driver and Death Wish.
