Here’s a new vid for Persona 4 Arena, providing a tutorial on how to play the game. “The joystick controls the character,” apparently. Who knew?

A fighter made by genre stalwarts Arc System Works, Persona 4 Arena ties into the respected JPRG series by being set two months after the events of Persona 4. It features characters from both Persona 4 and Persona 3, plus the gorgeous art style you’ll see in the trailer. It’s also utterly, utterly gorgeous.

Persona 4 Arena is out in August.

Keep in mind they couldn't get the original VA for Teddie and they wanted to match the original voices as close as possible for the nostalgic feel for those who played P4 on the PS2 years ago. At this point in time VA's ... weren't that great in most dubs, P4 was probably a better dub then most others during its time ... today its kinda meh admittedly.

This is also only Part 1 of the Tutorial theres two videos for it this one obviously showly the bare basics of any fighting game and basically anything more aimmed at beginners. Some unique mechanics though for regular players are the auto-combo (basically a mash combo for the beginners but regular players could do so much more with practice). Something also need is the universal DP attack with [B+D] usually DP attacks are down with 623 or a Z formation on your controller however they made it just a universal input for all characters (sounds pretty watered down right ? I somewhat agree but that means we'll see an increase in DPs which means more baits OR players will actually use wake up DPs more sparingly). Then finally there's Awakening, noted in the video you'll have access to special supers once you enter awakening but a small note added to that is that it adds small defense value to your character so they take a tad bit less damage.

The game holds alot of similarities to Guilty Gear (more so than Blazblue) to those familiar with it such as the BURST gauge refilling opposed to a BURST icon like in Blazblue. The All Out Attack is very similar to "Dust" in Guilty Gear which is basically an instant aerial combo.

Anyway thats enough of me rambling on, this is probably the most anticipated game for me personally this year so I'm definitely excited.
