Bethesda are teasing the announcement of the first downloadable content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Speaking on Twitter, Bethesda vice president of public relations and marketing Pete Hines said that the studio is "working on getting a little more info out on Skyrim / DLC." As for dates, he was a less forthcoming, saying that we should expect the announcement "Maybe next week," before adding, "We'll see."

Not much to go on then, but hopes are high for a reveal next week. What will it be? We don't know. All we do know is that Bethesda plans to release less frequent, yet more substantial add-onsIt's gonna be something big!

Cheers Leland.

  • Something big? Great, that practically guarentees the fact it'll be broken.
  • This should get alot of people excited. If you want my honest opinion though, I love the amount of content, music, and scale of world. But the gameplay was really boring to me which made me regret my buy :( Everyone seems to love it, and as much as I'd want to, I just hate to play it :( Just my opinion though (and I fear for alot of thumbs down xD)
  • @2 I understand you point of view on skyrim, at first its just feel so long and boring, after a while you kinda get hooked to it and want to see what is going to happen next. Then you hit the wall of boringness where all you do is walking around and explore forgotten places, this game has so much to offer that we can't see it all unless you have no life at all.. sadly my expectation for this game were limitless but you have to put so much time in it that at a point you just say F*** IT!! On topic, great to see that they'll release a DLC, hopefully it wont crash the game as any other (fallout, elderscroll) games...
  • *insert Horse Armour joke here*
  • If you want my guess, DLC will be announced next week, with a release date in June or July. Will probably cost 20-30 dollars.
  • Whatever the DLC is, it fucking better include capes! How the hell did Bethesda leave them out in the first place? I'll buy it regardless because who am I kidding? I love the game to bits
  • @1 You know, everytime I see an article about Skyrim/Bethesda on this site you're leaving some "witty" comment about how the game is broken. It seems like you're more obsessed with the game then anyone else.
  • Rember ppl we first get the DLC 1 month after it release.
  • LOL the cycle of skyrim Boring--> awesome----> really awesome----> boring for good
  • yay! i can't wait to see what they have in store for us. it would be cool if they allowed you to have a family like in Fable and i wouldn't mind if they addded another house, i have got so much gold i don't know what to do with it. unfortunately they will probalbly have neither but i can dream. i'm sure it will add an excellent questline(s) to this already great and addictive game. i 'll probably start a new character now too. now a real dilemmia, want for the GOTY edition or bit the bullet?
  • I'm hoping for some new awesome locations and quests.
  • i just want fallout 4..
  • @1 Funny comment! made me laugh. I finished the game and i dont think i will use the dlc. It was a really good game and i got it plati, but after 300 hours it is enough. I also like comment 9, he knows what i mean!
  • @5 $30??? If that DLC cost that much, I expect new voice actors, capes, new dog models, cats, new types of quest (AKA not dungeon clearing quests), and a new area with 1/4 the size of Skyrim.
  • @14 if its the morrowind youll have the equivalent of yr want
  • @14 That's usually what Bethesda DLC is like except it's normally around $10-15.
  • I think it will be 29.99 just like in the oblivion DLC which was worth it!!! I spent a lot time in the Shivering Isles
  • Looking forward to more info on this, and the DLC.
  • Would be nice if we got more information about it than "we'd like to have less and bigger DLC expansions" ...which is basically what they say whenever the issue of DLC comes up, lol.
  • At least its not ''Disc-Locked Content'' like Capcom's SFxTK.
  • @20 Yeah thats only a tad retarded.
  • There goes my 100%... I hope it is as good as the shivering isles expansion. Knights of the nine was okay, but not as good as the beforementioned. If that is the case it is worth it. I just hope it won't be ruined by using an existing character with a 11Mb save file.
  • @ 22 At least you didn't get to the end of Fallout 3 like I did and have my only game save right there where there is no going back. Everybody should just sell their copies they have now and the game of the year edition's price will drop even faster. I won't buy it until that version is out and most the important patches have been installed. I just bought Fallout 3 game of the year edition. Skyrim must wait.
  • Crafting spells would be rad. Decent inventory management would be nice too.
  • YEAHHHH DLC ^_^
  • I've got o agree with no.2 For sheer scale and size and graphical goodness, skyrim is unsurpassed. But I didn't have the same buzz playing it as I did Oblivion.
  • I hope they bring back the "create a spell" that you had in Oblivion, that was awesome. I cannot wait for this DLC, and hopefully it'll have many, many hours of fun, and not just a few hours of stuff like most dlc's... i want value for money dammit!
  • I really enjoy Skyrim and DLC should be awesome (please please please have spears!) I'm hoping it will add stuff to the core game, rather than just a totally separate area that feels detached from the world we've been playing in so far.
