Three New Battlefield 3 Expansions Coming From This June

Back to Karkand isn't the only downloadable expansion you'll be able to grab for Battlefield 3, as EA has today revealed that there's a further three expansion pack add-ons that'll be coming from this June onwards.

The first pack will be Battlefield 3: Close Quarters, which will add new weapons, assignments and dog tags to an infantry-only mode. That will be arriving in June, while the next expansion packs will be Armored Kill and End Game, coming in autumn and winter, respectively.

Here's the complete details for all three upcoming Battlefield 3 expansion packs:

  • Battlefield 3: Close Quarters – In Battlefield 3: Close Quarters, players are dropped into a frantic, infantry-only theatre of war. Frostbite 2 high definition destruction makes the environment come alive as everything from furniture to plaster gets shot to pieces. Players will feel the intensity of the world exploding around them as rubble and broken pieces pile up on the floor, while tight level design and vertical gameplay create a highly competitive environment. Battlefield 3: Close Quarters also introduces new weapons, assignments and unique dog tags to bring back to the base game.
  • Battlefield 3: Armored Kill – Following the tight infantry gameplay of Battlefield 3: Close Quarters, DICE will release Battlefield 3: Armored Kill that ups the ante for vehicular mayhem as only Battlefield can do. Featuring new driveable tanks, ATVs, mobile artillery and more, Battlefield 3: Armored Kill also delivers huge battlefields for an all-out vehicle assault, including the biggest map in Battlefield history.
  • Battlefield 3: End Game – The fourth expansion pack will ship in the winter but details remain tightly guarded.

If you're looking to expand your Battlefield 3 multiplayer game, then the Back to Karkand expansion is out now for £11.99/$14.99. Battlefield 3: Close Quarters is out in June.

Haven't played BF3 since I got the plat. I am sure this will get me playing again so I can get the Karkland trophies and then obviously any new ones. :)

Looking forward.

hopefully there not all 15$ because in AU thats 22$ and i cant afford that! i just got lucky it came with the LE, anyway the Armored kill expansion look the best of the lot. I want the biggest map in BF history and a full, all out vehicle map. The close quarters im not to fussed about.

Hopefully the DLC trophies won't be as annoying as those from Back to Karkard, but will still offer some interesting gameplay. Some new weapons would also be enjoyable.

Finally an announcement. I can't believe they are waiting so long to release the dlc especially with moh coming out in the autumn but at least we finally know what is going on. I'm really looking forward to the Armored pack but it looks like there will be something for everyone.

BOOMTOWN!! This is great news!! I think EA & DICE have brought this game along perfectly. Only complaint I've had is I wish the HUGE patch came a little sooner... but better than never!

You have to love the gap that DICE leave between DLC. Gives us time to live the current maps.

Armoured kill?

PLEASE BE JET ONLY MAPS SOMEWHERE-I NEED MOAR SERVICE STARS, MY CURRENT 11 JET SERVICE STARS ARE LONLEY-STAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!11ONE

(Yes, I love jets, especially taking on infantry, helis, tanks, jeeps, mav's, other jets, you name it, I've taken it down with a jet...except AA guns, dear god no, usually avoid them when I see on my mini map[)

As for discussion, I'm new to the bf series, loving it so far, even though people hate the bottlenecks like metro I kinda like them, thank god I got the cash for all this dlc, it's gonna cost a bit..

Are you kidding me, June, really wtf...

EA/DICE does remember that this game released in October 2011 correct? Nine months for the first proper DLC, sorry - too little too late, and $45 is completely out of line.

Hope ghost recon is good...

@13 It shows that they are still developing the DLC. Not like some companies that put DLC on the disc and make you pay day 1 to unlock. Now that is a rip off!

The biggest map in Battlefield history sounds epic, especially considering the size of some of the maps in the past. I'm definitely looking forward to the first expansion pack though. I've played on Infantry Mode before and its surprisingly enjoyable to not have to worry about fighting over who gets to fly the jets/helicopters... and not having to be concerned that a tank is gonna come barrelling around the corner blow you to hell.

If you spend your entire gaming life waiting for maps, or living for team death match, cuz you suck alone.
You need more games.

Hmm...three planned DLC. Four in total, which would cost $60 for the regular player and $45 for those who purchased the Limited Edition. Seeing as I am planning on BF3 lasting me for 2+ years, this much more justifiable than CoD DLC.

@16, you just inadvertantly proved my point, you have not played in over two months.

btw @14, they did pretty much have day one buy DLC (Karkland, rehashed maps and modes at that) unless you preordered the limited edition. And I am assuming you have not picked up that HOUR one EA DLC "from ashes" on ME3...

Look, dont get all crazy about it, its just my opinion that EA/DICE in general wait to long for DLC or bend you over at the beginning - they screwed the pooch on BC2 by waiting too long as well, everybody was already gone when a $10 Vietnam appeared, nothing I can do about it?
