Good this games mp will get more active. Its what it deserves, some of the best MPFriday, February 24, 2012 @ 05:34 AM
Sounds like the online was dead for this to happen...Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 05:37 AM
Must be to get people playing "the halo killer" because its dead without a new dlc.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 05:52 AM
already got this and light gun rifle in special edition BIG WHOOP ON "NEWS" special edition owners should get 14.99 edition free-cross compatibilityFriday, February 24, 2012 @ 06:02 AM
Unusual. Good though for those that just want to play the MP.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 06:02 AM
14.99 really? id rather buy the game lol its 16 bucks here LOLFriday, February 24, 2012 @ 06:19 AM
Why bother? Plus #8 is right, I've seen the game sealed for around 14.99, I'd much rather have Killzone for PS2 classics at any rate.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 06:56 AM
People still play this game online? I could rarely get into a match last time i stuck the disc in.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 07:09 AM
People keep telling me that K3 is amazing online but I'm still yet to see it and I've put a considerable amount of time into it as wellFriday, February 24, 2012 @ 07:19 AM
How about uprating the mp for this and stop moderating KZ 2 MP so people can actually platinum that game and start enjoying itFriday, February 24, 2012 @ 07:48 AM
Perhaps this will fill the servers once again.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 07:52 AM
Thats great seeing as how I just 100%ed that damn game like three days ago now...Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 07:55 AM
I didn't really like this FPS.. But it was atleast Unique.. Just didn't have the IT thing that kills Halo and CoD.. LOVED the unique sound of the guns though and the environments looked kewl.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 08:51 AM
@12 I platinum'd KZ2 without any problems in multiplayer... Why should a platinum be easy? I did quite like KZ3, but I think I preferred the multiplayer in KZ2. I couldn't say why, I just got really addicted to the second game online whereas the third was just kinda meh. Still, nice to see them offering something up for free. They made their money on the game, so why not?Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 09:06 AM
@5 as much as I like Killzone, it's no Halo killer. Great idea by Sony to boost the online community.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 09:50 AM
Killzone 4 , will wait for in 2013Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 10:00 AM
This would be great if Killzone 3 wasn't awful. I'd definitely take Killzone 2, but I think I'll save myself the time and not bother.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 10:07 AM
Very good idea, more companys should do thisFriday, February 24, 2012 @ 10:31 AM
@4, 5 10 & 13 It's definitely not dead, I never have trouble finding a match with at least 16 players, Especially on weekends.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 10:43 AM
Guys, I believe everyone here forgot to mention that this is for NA only. So, ehh, if you're an Eurobro.... well, yeah, no free MP for you. A shame, I'd say, because having the MP be free2play is really, really cool. I bought the game on release date, and it's been a while since the MP was really, really active. Guess I'll have to jump onto US servers next week.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 11:18 AM
GREATFriday, February 24, 2012 @ 11:34 AM
got 100% trophy completion and would have played even more and more if it wasn't for the many games that keep on being released every month would like to come back one day and re-enjoy the MP really a great game !!Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 11:35 AM
i wonder if this is a test. You know like when God of War Collection was released and sold well. So now we have a ton of HD collection. i wonder if Sony is seeing how this works out so they can bring more free to play online games.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 11:51 AM
This is a very good idea. A great idea! I had played the Homefront demo for months before finally catching it on sale for $15 in store. If it weren't for the demo, I'd have skipped over it. Considering how it's becoming harder each year for games with MP to compete with CoD's longevity and subsequently the online population in MP games quickly drops after 1-3 months, allowing gamers to buy a full MP experience for a small price is one of the best ways to get longevity. I think Sony would be wise to consider doing this with the Uncharted and Resistance MPs, since while they have dedicated fans, the numbers just aren't there.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 12:09 PM
This seems a total waste of time on sonys part as u can buy the game around tenner n the mp is too "CODed" up anyway its rubbish compared to kz2's hench why it's pretty dead.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 12:27 PM
Just buy the full game for the same, if not less than the price of this. The game itself is great. And someone else already hit the nail on the head, the mp is kinda lifeless.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 12:28 PM
I wonder if we'll be able to earn Trophies in the f2p version... If not hopefully in the $15 dollar version we can.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 12:42 PM
@21, not on the DLC maps, it always ends up a 2 vs 1, maybe this will change that, I finally got 100% and dont think I can go back to it now... March 6 cant get here quick enough! Can a femshep get with Miranda, thats my goal!Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 01:39 PM
Cool concept but a waste of money in my eyes. Eventually online will either have no community or the servers will get shut . Then you will have paid to clog up your HDDFriday, February 24, 2012 @ 01:40 PM
If u actually like it just go buy the game. Get it used there is no online pass for it. And if u have PS Move then this game is perfect for it. Got my platinum for this only using the Move (other than the co-op trophy).Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 02:44 PM
so can you get trophies? Just curious.Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 03:20 PM
I urge people to give it a try at least, it's a pretty good MP.

Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed via the Official PlayStation Blogcast that you'll be able to get your hands on Killzone 3's multiplayer via the PlayStation Network as a standalone free-to-play download or a paid version with total access and no XP level cap on your progress.
All of the standard Killzone 3 maps will be available with the free PSN download, but there will be a level cap applied to the amount of XP you can accumulate, with the option to pay $14.99 to remove the cap and subsequently unlock the skill tree after reaching the imposed level cap.
There are no plans to offer a similar free standalone version of Killzone 3's single-player campaign, and it won't be sold seperately. However, if you're interested in Killzone 3's multiplayer only, then this separate free PSN trial offers the perfect chance to get involved. It'll be available to download from the PS Store next week.
