Lightning to Take Centre Stage in FFXIII-2 DLC?

There's a whopping great chunk of DLC inbound for Final Fantasy XIII-2, allowing you to play as Lightning through a series of story episodes, if the latest rumours surrounding Square Enix's JRPG are to be believed.

According to a leak of this week's Famitsu (via Andriasang), some sizeable FFXIII-2 DLC will allow players to recruit the FFXIII star as a party member after defeating her in a coliseum match. Apparently, the DLC will include "secret story episodes" for the character. Other downloadable coliseum matches will also be available, says the report, featuring classic Final Fantasy bosses.

It has previously been revealed that Lightning will appear in the game, as a knight guarding the Goddess Etro's shrine in Valhalla.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 hits on Jan 31 in the US and Feb 3 in Europe.

Sound's good but let's just hope for a reasonable price tag for something that you know could've been included on the disc on release.

Sounds great but I just don't get it why Serah would want to fight her sister in the Coliseum?

no one complains when other games get DLC that extends the games story like when in assassins creed 2 no one moaned bout sequence 12 & 13 being DLC even though that could have been in the game at no extra cost so you people gotta stop moaning bout something like lighting being DLC after all the games mainly bout serah this time who cares if a final fantasy game starts getting DLC it may be the year 2012 but its not the end of the world STOP MOANING!!! :P

I think they can even have DLC for all the original characters maybe after we beat the game and have them as 2nd playthrough.

This (and FFXIII itself) convince me it's really better to wait for a cheaper Complete Edition on this one. Bought FFVI yesterday instead, it's 5€ on PSN this week as well as the other PS1 FFs. Now I only "need" V and I have them all. Muhaha.

@9: Wrong.

I for one am extremely excited that FF is finally getting DLC. I always make sure to do everything in every FF, and DLC just extends how long I can play before starting it over. I dont care what the cost is, I will be getting every FF DLC on day one.
