Final Fantasy XIII-2 isn't all turn-based battling and exploration; there's Moogle stuff too! This latest trailer shows the many useful functions of your cutesy companion Mog the Moogle, from his treasure hunting talents to his Mog Clock ability, which adds modifiers to battles.

Then there's the Moogle Throw that enables you to obtain rare items to help in generate that all important universal Final Fantasy currency, gil. In fact, Moogle can do so many things, you'll wonder how you ever played a Final Fantasy game without it.

Check out the trailer for a look at Mog the Moogle in action, performing his treasure hunting and Mog Clock abilities, then look forward to chucking Mog around when Final Fantasy XIII-2 releases in North America on January 31st, 2012 and Europe on February 3rd, 2012.

I'm really excited about this game. Shame I'm gonna have to wait as I have 4 other games in my queue to get through.

I'm still very much undecided on this game. I enjoyed 13, but I just don't feel very excited about this. Maybe as the release date gets closer I'll change my mind. :/

I disagree. I have played as a moogle before and if I remember right his name was mog. If I still remember right it was in final fantasy 4 (VI). Perhaps these people should know what they are writing about.

From what I have gathered we will not be able to play as Mog in this game. He is more of an AI thats somewhat usefull. How dull

@3&5: III/VI was not the only game with a playable Moogle :P Although it was if you only count the main series (VII doesn't really count).
