Having shifted 11 million units, it was inevitable that LEGO Batman would be making a comeback, but we never expected him to bring so much company with him. Warner Bros Games has just announced LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, which will see the plastic Bat and Robin returning alongside an army of fellow heroes.

TT Games' sequel includes not only the dynamic duo, but also Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman, who must fight to save Gotham City from Lex Luthor and the Joker. Naturally, the same tried and tested LEGO gameplay will return, with the same brand of humour and action that the series is known for.

"LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes builds upon the action and cooperative gameplay experience established in our best-selling LEGO videogame to date, LEGO Batman: The Videogame," said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. "We're offering fans a rich and expansive Gotham City environment filled with cool characters, great customisation options and plenty of surprises that families, young gamers and DC Universe fans can enjoy together."

Featuring new gadgets, outfits and new areas of Gotham to explore, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will be swooping into stores in summer 2012.

If they keep it at least as fun as first Lego Batman, this will be awesome!

Meh, after losing out on the LEGO Indy 2 platinum due to glitches I'm leaving LEGO games to the kids.

I've only liked the Batman and original Star Wars ones of these so this sounds appealing to me.

I'm a big Batman and DC superhero fan, but I had a difficult time getting into Lego Batman (Don't really know why, I guess it was a little different and wasn't what I was expecting at the time). But if this is even half as good as Lego Pirates or Lego Harry Potter then it should be a great title.

Hmm. Since it'll have trophies, I'll probably check it out. I've enjoyed the other LEGO games, though I didn't play the first LEGO batman game.

Having played and gotten 100% on all of the Lego games so far, this will be a day one buy for me. What I really liked about Lego Batman 1 was that it was an original story - the others, while great, stuck to the source material. Making a brand new story for Batman is great. Wish they would do the same with some other properties out there....oh the possibilities with Lego's.

Though with the new Kre-O's, I will never get to see a Lego Transformers game....bastards.
