Square Enix has today announced Airtight Games and Portal co-creator Kim Swift's Quantum Conundrum, a first-person puzzler that's slightly reminiscent of Valve's genius series, set to launch on the PlayStation Network next year.
Assuming control of a young kid dropped off at his Uncle Fitz Quadwrangle's place, you'll interact with all manner of crazy technology using the Inter-Dimensional Shift Device, which dynamically changes the world around you into new dimensions. You'll hop from room to room solving brainteasers, manipulating objects, changing properties like making items lighter in the Fluffy Room for instance.
“We wanted to create a fun, quirky puzzle game that anyone would want to play, regardless of age or gaming experience,” said Kim Swift, Creative Director at Airtight Games. "I've been working with an amazing and collaborative team on this project and look forward to coming into the office every day to hear new ideas, see what everyone has created, and dive in on my own pieces of the game. We've created something that we're all extremely proud of and hope that people will enjoy playing it as much as we are making it."
Quantum Conundrum will be releasing on the PlayStation Network in early 2012. Check out the announcement trailer and screens below.
