Ace Combat: Assault Horizon
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Gamescom Trailer Shot Down

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon wants you to make metal bleed. That's why shooting a fighter jet down results in a flurry of twisted metal and engine oil flying across the sky and right into your face. There's more plane-based mayhem where that came from in this Gamescom trailer though, with bombs dropping, missiles zipping through the air and more explosions than you can shake a flight stick at.

Featuring some Apache helicopter action and an F22 Raptor tearing through the skies, the trailer is all-out action, indicating the Hollywood movie inspiration the new Ace Combat will be drawing upon.

Check out the new Gamescom trailer below, then give our hands-on preview a read for more on Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, which is locked on for an October 11th release in North America and October 14th launch in Europe.

Battlefield 3's jets will offer you a better simulator experience than this!

@1 possible but this is more than just jets, its various kinds of helicopters, jets and bomber planes. I dont really see how you can compare a dedicated flight simulator against a FPS that features jets in it

this game actually looks pretty good, I might pick it up (looks far better than HAWKZ)

@2 It does look better than HAWX but HAWX honestly is a franchise run by the wrong people that can't seem to get it out of it's baby shoes. It is no competition to this game and this video pretty much proves that on it's own.
I'm more of an attack helicopter fan though.

wow that music.. just sucks. i'm definately getting this but please keep the awful rap/orchestra-crossovers at minimum :(
@1 you serious? im sure BF3 will be great but dont expect them to put serious flight mechanics in it like they do in ace combat, BF3 jet handling will be mediocre at best compared to this here

@9 Yes you can :)

And why are people comparing this with BF3? They're two completely different games lmao.

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to this coming out, haven't played an ace combat game since the The Belkan War, which I enjoyed alot, so I'll be getting this 100% :)
