Previously given a tentative release window of 'early 2012', Square Enix has now managed to narrow down the western launch date for Final Fantasy XIII-2, settling on a specific month.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is heading to Japan in December 2011, and the game will subsequently be releasing in North America a mere month afterwards, in January 2012. That's a pretty quick turnaround between the game's debut in the east and its arrival in the west, which ought to come as great news to western FF fans.
Starring Noel and Serah on their search for original Final Fantasy XIII protagonist, Lightning, Final Fantasy XIII-2 hopes to rectify the shortcomings of the previous game, which still went on to sell millions.
