I was hoping one of those would be a new Operations map. Oh well.Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 01:18 PM
Please tell ps plus gets it free like the last one.Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 01:19 PM
tell me*Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 01:21 PM
@#1 Forreal . It is like they forgot operations completely . It is the single reason I still jump on from time to time . I thought it was an awesome addition to the franchise.Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 02:16 PM
Might have to go back and have a look at these!Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 02:16 PM
Those of you guys wanting more Operations, Guerilla already stated that they aren't making anymore Operations maps because they are too hard and take too long to make. They wouldn't be able to charge a meeger $4.99 USD for it otherwise. We'd be seeing CoD priced Map Packs, and the Map Packs would take forever to come out. Might as well just enjoy the 3 we have...Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 02:43 PM
I call BS on that argument . Sounds like corner cutting to me . Wouldn't surprise me if all this dlc was already on stand by and that's why no ops can be made .Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 02:46 PM
I love Guerilla. Nobody, IMO, gives us the value they do. And they seem to give a damn what we want + they don't overcharge like others do COUGH***ACTIVISION***COUGH. Okay they didn't deliver more operations maps, but more time than any other mode I've been by myself in a lobby, looking for an ops match. That's a bummer cuz it's a fun fast-paced mode.Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 03:15 PM
"This will also coincide with the launch of the Killzone 3 bundle pack, which will see the Retro Pack, Steel Rain Pack and the From the Ashes pack for the bargainous price of $9.99." ...Crap. I was waiting on the second pack until they put out the inevitable bundle of all the map packs. But since I already got the Retro Pack free with my preorder, my options are pay $4.99 for the other two separately (total: a little over $10 after tax) or pay $9.99 for the bundle which is also a total of a little over $10. Just to be clear for the stupid people out there: I'm not upset at the bundle price. I'm just a tiny bit sad that I waited on the second map pack for nothing. I am not hating on Guerrilla or Sony in any way, got it? Just a tiny bit sad at the realization that I could have been enjoying the 2nd map pack months ago. Also, I guess this is a good time to see if they got the update out for custom games yet.Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 03:39 PM
@9: I was feeling the same way, MJC. It would've been nice for them to bundle the two non-Retro map packs for, I don't know, maybe $7.50? Still, $10 for 6 maps is still 4 more maps than those Shylocks at Activision would've given you, and given that two of the maps are two of my favorite Killzone 2 maps (as much as Radec Academy was a little overdone, but whatever) only sweetens the deal.Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 03:52 PM
Anyone compared to activision or capcom wins in terms of dlc pricing and worth . I don't think that GG is cheating us in terms of price . Why include a new mode , a mode that is popular at that and then have no plans to make any new maps for it ? but then release 10 maps for other modes . Honestly believe 10 maps are easier to make than the one new map for ops ? what about 100 new maps ? Where does the line get drawn . I honestly don't care if they charged 9.99 or 15.99 . Long as the content is worth the price . so if they wanted to take the time and make a slew of ops maps , up the price a little I'd be fine with it . But to say that they "can't" do it... that is just rubbish .Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 04:23 PM
I'll be picking this up next week.Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 04:32 PM
Well shit on my balls and call me sally this is gonna be some damn good dlcFriday, June 17, 2011 @ 05:49 PM
I'll be getting it whether it's free for + members or not :)Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 07:57 PM
I mean it would be great to get some new Operations maps..but it looks like that will never happen.Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 09:43 PM
I'm getting Kilzone 3 next week from amazon. I already have one of the DLC and i think its either discounted or free from Playstation plus the second DLC. I think i will buy this one so i have all three DLC's to play when i get killzone! Awwwwesome.!Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 10:52 PM
@10: The other two packs in their own bundle for that price would be nice. And I suppose if we were to wait long enough, either the individual maps or the full bundle would go on sale for a week or two... But screw waiting that long. :p Why the mention of Radec Academy? The maps in the Retro Pack are Salamun Market and Blood Gracht. They thankfully did not expose us to endless rooms of Radec Body Count only games again.Friday, June 17, 2011 @ 10:56 PM
$5???? SWEET! Getting this for sure. Activision could learn something from GG. Hope we get another double xp weekend as well.Saturday, June 18, 2011 @ 12:40 AM
This is why I enjoy PlayStation exlcusives DLC pricing compared to that of Call of Duty. It's great and you don't feel like you spent more money than it was worth. I think I'll play me some Killzone 3 tomorrow just for the hell of it.Saturday, June 18, 2011 @ 06:08 AM
So does anyone know the EU price? it's going to be around 5 euros right?Saturday, June 18, 2011 @ 06:20 AM
Looks really nice, but I'm not one for buying DLC. When they release a complete edition with all the DLC for under £40, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.Saturday, June 18, 2011 @ 11:28 AM

Okay, now I see. The trophies tell me that we get to go back to Radec Academy again. Great. Hearing that makes me want to do what Radec did at the end of Killzone 2.Sunday, July 24, 2011 @ 07:42 AM
Can anyone help me boost some of the trophies please? i just need 4 more then ill be done for now, which are both radec-related, the 3-kill tactician and the engineer turret. PSN is GarciaFever

Guerrilla Games is set to release a new map pack for Killzone 3 next week, which Lead Producer Aryeh Loeb says "will reinvigorate your Killzone 3 online experience with environments both fresh and familiar." The "From the Ashes" map pack will bundle two Guerrilla maps and two Warzone maps offering action for 16-32 players.
Guerrila has released two video previews of the Lente Missile Base and Mobile Factory on the PlayStation Blog too, so you can get an idea of the scope and look of two of the four maps in the pack. The first video shows the Lente Missile Base Warzone map, which supports up to 24 players in an abandoned missile base on the outskirts of the Kaznan Jungle. Some of the bases systems remain operational as the jungle creeps in, causing the Helghast and ISA to fight for control of the base as it readies to fire its missiles and fry anyone in the underground vents.
The second video shows the Mobile Factory map, which is a 16-player Guerrilla map set aboard the gigantic mobile fortress from the single-player campaign. Both factions will have to fight for control over the base, but you'll need to take care not to plummet into the giant shredders. There's also two portable miniguns to grab and do some shredding of your own.
Killzone 3's "From the Ashes" map pack will be out on Tuesday, June 21st for $4.99 from the PlayStation Store. This will also coincide with the launch of the Killzone 3 bundle pack, which will see the Retro Pack, Steel Rain Pack and the From the Ashes pack for the bargainous price of $9.99.
