Operation Flashpoint: Red River Pushed Into June in North America

It's 2 for 1 on Operation Flashpoint: Red River news today, although it's not necessarily good news. First the bad news. Operation Flashpoint: Red River had been slated to release at the tail-end of this month, but it has now been pushed back a couple of months into June in North America.

Apparently, the European launch is still on for April 21st, so it seems that the delay only affects North America. No reason was given for the game's delay, but Operation Flashpoint: Red River will now launch on June 7th, 2011 rather than April 26th in North America.

Now the good news. Codemasters has released a new Operation Flashpoint: Red River developer diary - huzzah! - looking at some of the improvements that the development team have made to the game, including an AI overhaul, new animation, revamped handling and more. Check out the dev diary for the complete lowdown.

And if you're still hungry for more Op Flash, we've got a lovely hands-on preview and an interview for you to read. Operation Flashpoint: Red River is out on April 21st in Europe and June 7th in North America.

Exactly what I was thinking but then screw 'em. They get 90% of games before everyone else. Make all games world-wide releases!

We get most games before you Euros because we fucking rock!!! I think the real issue here is that we make better porn than the EU now as well. Just sayin'... Releasing this the same day as Infamous 2 is suicide. Who is running their marketing department? Obama?

Devs have some good sense by not having their game get in the way of MK's stampede.

@2 - How do you figure? Japan get's tons of games that never even make it west, so how can North America get 90% of games before anyone else?

I've heard some one say this has to do with THQ because they're the NA distributor

I'm guessing THQ doesn't want it taking money away from Homefront or something

#9 Most games in general. They get released in the US first. Sometimes it is a few days, weeks or even months apart. As for Japan they don't do decent games which stay Japan release only.
