Disney Interactive has announced that Cars 2: The Video Game will be coming to consoles to coincide with the release of Pixar's movie sequel this summer. Boasting a new international spy theme, Cars 2: The Video Game will have you both racing and engaging in "action-packed spy adventures".
Introducing the international training centre for CHROME (Command Headquarter for Recon Operations and Motorised Espionage), Cars 2 will let you choose from 25 different characters - including Lightning McQueen, Mater and new characters Finn McMissile (voiced by Michael Caine in the film) and Holley Shiftwell - and you'll then train to become a top spy. With wheels.
During your training you'll get acquainted with being a spy in dangerous simulation missions, using high-tech gadgets to slow down or evade rivals. Toy Story 3 Video Game developer Avalance Software is on development duties, working closely with Pixar to preserve the humour and personality of the movie.
“Cars is one of Pixar’s most successful and treasured franchises, so we are thrilled to be working with Avalanche Software again to extend our creative vision of the Cars 2 universe into the interactive medium,” said Jay Ward, Cars franchise guardian at Pixar Animation Studios. “Avalanche Software has the technology, experience, and history in working with us to create the best-looking Cars video game to date.”
Cars 2: The Video Game will be screeching in this summer 2011 to coincide with the release of the animated movie. Check out the first two screens featuring Lightning McQueen and Finn McMissile below.
