Didn't Xbox get an exclusive called Splinter Cell Conviction? Why would I waste my time if I can't even finish the series??Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 05:58 AM
@4 I totally agree with you, luckily I have XBOX and have played Conviction.... AND IT IS VERY GOOD!!!!Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 06:33 AM
Even though I have the Xbox versions of these I'm probably going to have to pick this up. Also, Conviction was a terrible game of terribleness.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 07:01 AM
sweet...Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 07:16 AM
Splinter Cell: Conviction is an embarrassment to the series. Don't bother with it.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 07:35 AM
SWEET!! now im just waiting on redident evil , final fantasy , grand theft auto , twisted metal and socom.( so many games i remastered)gaybox will be outta business soonTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 07:36 AM
Yeah, three easy platinums.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 07:42 AM
@#8 & #6 - the game wasn't terrible. It was a really good game (I enjoyed it quite a bit). The mistake they made was calling it a Splinter Cell game (to capitalize on the series recognition). People were expecting the same gameplay as the rest of the series and didn't get it. It was way more action oriented (and they action and presentation was extremely well done). Either way, this HD collection is good news ... I hope Conviction eventually makes its way over tooTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 07:56 AM
sounds good. ps3 has needed a stealth game.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 08:00 AM
@#4 Xbox exclusive?? Splinter Cell Conviction was released on PC as well. Although not as good, most people own computers nowadays...Xbox barely has any exclusives, pathetic box. I look forward to these remakes! :DTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 08:00 AM
god i got to love the way #10 thinks he has it in the bag already. i some how don't think so.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 08:20 AM
Agree with #10 i reckon these games will be tough cookies to crack. Hopefully it will drop in Europe after a US release, need to revisit these games and remember how brilliant they were compared to convictionTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 08:21 AM
I 100% agree with #14. You know there'll be trophies like 'Get from point A to point B without alerting a soul (anybody)'Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 08:29 AM
meh...give us MGS..this is just lame copycat...i played SC1 and pandora tom.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 08:50 AM
ALL the Trophies & Platinums ASIDE, I have the Series 4 my "GAY" Box as "Some" refer The XBOX AS.... I LOVE the SERIES and will Purchase to "Play" them on My PS3, while playing i'm sure i'll earn "TROPHIES" but like i did B4 "Trophies/Achievements" I'll play the "GAME" 4 fun & Enjoyment. And i still Play some of them From time 2 time on "MY" Big Black "GAY" box along with Many Other games.... And yes it still works @ over 9yrs old... :-)Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 09:14 AM
I don't in anyway feel not having conviction is a problem. Everyone i know who's played said it sucks.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 09:31 AM
Still no word on which version of the game it is then, I suppose we should assume that these are direct PS2 ports but I'm still hoping we get the superior PC/XBX versions. The GC/PS2-ports just had to cut to many corners to be playable on the system, just check about any review you'll be able to find. Luckily these days multiplatform game don't suffer the same consequences any more.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 09:33 AM
Haven't played a splinter cell game in years! But good new that I read the PoP collection coming out for disc! :)Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 09:40 AM
Awesome, really looking forward to thisTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 10:11 AM
oh look, the american metal gear solidTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 10:47 AM
Never played any of these, so I am looking forward to it. I thought Conviction was a decent game, although not as stealth as I had hoped.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 10:56 AM
PoP Collection coming to US market in disc form.... didn't I call that months ago? :DTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 11:07 AM
From what I remember the 1st 3 splinter cells where easily the best in the series, had the best gameplay and best storylines! Anyone disagree with that?? As I didn't bother playing splinter cell after chaos theory (3rd splinter cell)Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 11:30 AM
I don't know about this... I will just stick with the Metal Gear series ; )Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 12:16 PM
I've never actually played a Splinter Cell game -- I was thinking about trying out the old one for PS3 that came out but I never got around to it... ...I DO know that I'd do just about anything to see an HD Rainbow Six Collection hit PS3. Those are some great games in desperate need of an update.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 12:19 PM
#9 wait theres gonna be a resident evil and grand theft auto collection?Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 12:28 PM
Would be nice if they came out on the 360, that way I could complete the Splinter Cell series on my xbox. That aside can't wait for this. Als Conviction wasn't a bad game, but they ruined with terrible level design. No true MP didn't help either.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 12:39 PM
Excellent! especially the first Splinter Cell. They should also look into having Hitman & Thief joining the rank of possible HDrelease, like Resident Evil, Tomb Raider... it is a way for Eidos & Ubisoft to make some extra $$$ to work on new games... and for older players to play some favorite... looking forward for new & old realeasesTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 01:12 PM
Why didnt they announce the European releaseTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 01:25 PM
It's being released a in April for Aus and New Zealand so i'd say Euro isn't far off from that time frame. It's being released for $85 NZD which isn't too bad for 3 games.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 01:27 PM
As for Conviction it doesn't say Xbox 360 only or anything on the cover so I assume it isn't. Double agent made it way to PS3 which double agent was a let down with no trophies.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 02:32 PM
@#29 i dunno,i hope soTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 03:59 PM
Yes. All stealth games are just MGS. Because there cannot be more than one series per game type. Good job, guys! Call of Duty is just Doom. Conviction can still suck it for not being Splinter Cell.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 05:00 PM
Awesome - just about every good game i never got to play for ps2 seems to be either released or will be released in these hd trilogy/collection forms :D Bring em' onTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 07:35 PM
@12 Actually the ps3 has a good stealth game its called Metal Gear Solid 4 and soon to be metal gear solid collection but this is good aswellTuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 09:17 PM
are the games gonna be the ps2 ports in HD?Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 09:34 PM
I hope they have the Xbox version of the games. They were way better then the PS2 versions. Conviction looks awesome. I loved Double Agent too, even though it was different. I found the story of Double Agent on PS2/Xbox/Gamecube better then the PS3/360/PC versions. These trophies will be hard. I think we might be seeing online trophies if they include the multiplayer section of the games, Which I am fine with since the online is amazing.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 10:11 PM
very good news have never played any splinter cell will finally give it a go now :D amd thee prince of persia disc is great news, thankfully i havent purchased the yet now i will wait :DWednesday, February 02, 2011 @ 01:49 AM
Looks good!Wednesday, February 02, 2011 @ 03:08 AM
I've used this site since it first came up and have never registered to post comments or on the forums until I just read what #38 said. When I read he said the ps3 has a good "stealth" game called Metal Gear Solid 4,I felt OBLIGATED to register and post this. That game was an insult to the metal gear series.People talk about Heavy Rain being a movie with slight gameplay....has anyone ever "played" MGS4?!?! Its a 12 hour movie with a 4 hour demo in the middle of it all.I loved MGS1,3 and the first 30 minutes of 2 so you cant bias me on that.It boils down to 1.Kojima trying to be different & abstract and 2.Marketing with the name aka that new Raiden game coming out still being called "Metal Gear Solid:Lightning Action Raiden" or whatever its called,I forget the exact title. Now,to stay sligWednesday, February 02, 2011 @ 03:11 AM
Blah text limits. Now to stay slightly on topic,I'll probably be buying this collection,3 great games.Having played xbox and ps2 versions, hopefully we get the xbox ports, but not likely. Oh and @#11 you're completely right.Conviction was not a bad game, they just made the mistake of selling an action game under the "Splinter cell" name and fans were expecting a stealth game when they got an action game with stealth elements.Thursday, February 17, 2011 @ 02:26 AM
Come on Splinter Cell conviction too we need it too and special editionTuesday, September 20, 2011 @ 01:02 PM
These are great games on the PS2, but the anolog-stick on the ps2 are not presure-sensitive... This mean, it will be a whole lolt more stealty on a PS3, Ps2, if you barely pushed the anolog-stick, it would go just as fast as pushing it all the way forward, not presure-sensitive... Also in Hd, it wont look like a big yellow X when someone shoots lol... Sony PS3 fan... PS3 is way more powerful and can hold more savedata, so you btter belive that the gameplay will be way better....Just Buy it!!! LOL Gamertag is EpiC_DA_Monster

Ubisoft has confirmed that the Splinter Cell HD Collection will be releasing in the US late next month on Blu-ray disc, on the same day as the US Blu-ray release of Prince of Persia HD Collection, which has previously been available as individual downloads on the PlayStation Store.
Splinter Cell HD Collection will also be made available via PSN as separate games, meaning you'll be able to grab Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory individually too.
Prince of Persia HD Collection has been available for a few months as PSN downloads in the US and Europe, but previously only European punters had the option to purchase the three games on a single shiny Blu-ray disc.
Both Splinter Cell HD Collection and Prince of Persia HD Collection will arrive in the US on Blu-ray on March 22nd with 3D support.
