The first gameplay for Games Workshop's newest entry in the Warhammer 40K game series has dropped: and it appears to be taking its cues from Blizzard's erstwhile Diablo franchise.

Developed by Neocore (the developers behind the Van Helsing games), the game is an isometric action-RPG with a focus on environmental destruction, featuring various factions from the pre-established 40K universe (read: Space Marines and Orks).

It's a bit slower and more deliberate in its movements than Diablo - offering some change-up in the genre - but anyone that's picked up an isometric RPG before is going to feel very much at home.

The game is due to launch sometime in 2017 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

  • It looks good, but next year will see release of Dawn of War III an no other 40K game will matter. Still this might be a nice time filler, because I doubt we will see DoW until later next year and this has been making rounds for a while now.
  • @1 Do you enjoy being negative in every news story?
  • @#2 You have a funny way of describing something that "looks good" to me, but if you're looking for bigger reaction then you're out of luck...
  • @3 Nope, just a simple question as to why you're so negative in every post.
  • Looks more like XCOM than Diablo.
