EA and Ghost Games have announced that a new Need for Speed update will be rolling out for free next week, adding three new trophies, a Wrap Sharing feature, Photo Mode and more besides.

The Need for Speed Showcase Update will be available for free, enabling players to share their bespoke wrap designs and download the designs of others, take pictures with various effects applied in the Snapshot Pro mode, and utilise more than 100 new customisation items.

Eleven new cars will receive new customisation items, including the Ford Focus RS, BMW M3 E92, Ford Mustang GT and Nissan Silvia Spec-R, while you can also spruce up your car's license plate with a background inspired by Need for Speed locations like Redview, Fairhaven, Palmont City, Rockport, Olympic City, Bayview and Tri City Bay.

As for the new Need for Speed Showcase trophies, they are as follows:

  • Filter Addict – Take a Snapshot with a Filter in Snapshot Pro Mode
  • Wrap Artist – Share a Wrap with the Need for Speed Community
  • Climbing the Ranks – Reach Monthly Rank 10 by completing Daily Challenges

The free Need for Speed Showcase Update will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 3rd February.

  • The game that keeps on giving. That share feature was seriously missing in my case as I am pretty limited artistically. Definitely going to get back into this and update my rides with some sweet fresh looks=D
  • @1 Kind of on your side. I'm a good artist, but can't get to grips with these shapes. Like have you seen the designs alone on the likes of cod emblems, yet car wraps should be much easier. I can do good designs, just not a lot of originality from it. Can't wait for the wraps from some of these fine artists.
  • While I do love this game. I've platinum'd the core game and I had fun. This always online stuff has ruined the overall experience of this game. They should at least give me the option of playing in a private session. It's almost a game killer.
  • @3 in the game settings there's an option to play alone
