Doctor Who will feature in LEGO Dimensions, Warner Bros has confirmed. Actor Peter Capaldi will be lending his voice talent to the game alongside Jenna Coleman (Clara) and Michelle Gomez (Missy). It’s the first time Doctor Who has appeared in a LEGO game.

Of course, LEGO Dimensions is a game about firsts, as the new trailer for the Skylanders-esque “toys to life” confirms. In the vid you’ll see the Tardis appearing in Gotham City, as well as the Doctor fighting alongside Homer Simpson and riding a haunted mine car with Scooby and Shaggy.

Doctor Who will be playable in the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack which will also feature a Doctor Who level “where the game’s heroes continue their quest while encountering Daleks, Cybermen and other adversaries from the Whoniverse.”

Further Doctor Who DLC will also be made available for LEGO Dimensions, including a Doctor Who level pack and a Doctor Who fun pack. You can find further details below with descriptions from Warner Bros. themselves.

Doctor Who Level Pack includes: an additional mission-based Doctor Who level, along with a LEGO minifigure of the 12th Doctor and LEGO models of the TARDIS and K-9, all playable in the game.  When the 12th Doctor is defeated in the level, he returns as the 1st Doctor and then regenerates back up to the 12th Doctor again.  The interior of the TARDIS will reflect the corresponding Doctor the player embodies or can be manually selected.  There’s even a jukebox inside where players can choose among different versions of the Doctor Who theme music.  The TARDIS and K-9 models can each be physically built and then rebuilt twice to do entirely different things in the digital game for massive variety.

Doctor Who Fun Pack includes: a playable Cyberman minifigure and Dalek model which can be physically built and then rebuilt twice for a total of three different objects.

LEGO Dimensions arrives on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on September 29th.

  • Could this get any cooler?
  • Holy crap, I knew it! As soon as they showed a doctor Lego set. Can't wait!
  • Holy crap they have the Doctor interacting with Doc Brown! I want this game if it wasn't so damn expensive!
  • I'd rather just have a Lego Doctor Who game, in the style of the others. Perfect fit - the hero doesn't use guns and solves problems, and there'd be a ton of different characters to collect from the 50+ year history of the show with all the different Doctors, companions, and villians
  • @4 There could be special access panels for K9 (Maybe shared with cybermen/daleks), sonic screwdriver could have 10-20 different functions that open areas in levels (maybe some that are specific to certain generation of doctor and then of course you have the Masters abilities too to manipulate other characters, etc Possibilities are huge, if they have the license, I can't see why they wouldn't get it done
  • 55 seconds in. The Doctor with Doc. Brown. My grin. It shall kill me :))))
  • I love that you can play as all the Doctors, how brilliant is that. And the various Tardis's (Tardises?). Makes me want a stand alone Doctor Who Lego game. It could happen now that Lego has the rights to make DW sets. I hope it happens.
  • Doc Brown and THE doctor? MIND...BLOWN! Just need Al and Sam from quantum leap to complete the time triangle.
  • SO AWESOME!
  • @7 I think the collective noun for tardis is tardis, but I'm not sure ;p
