Ubisoft has dated Rainbow Six: Siege. The close-quarters multiplayer game hits on October 13th, 2015 for Xbox One and PlayStation.

“Rainbow Six Siege is inspired by real world counter-terrorist organisations, and puts players in the middle of lethal close-quarters confrontations,” says Ubisoft. “For the first time in a Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six game, players will engage in sieges, a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy’s position.”

In addition to this, Ubisoft has also detailed the various different editions that will be available at release in Europe, the Middle-East and Africa. There’s three of them; the Art of the Siege Edition, the Gold Edition and the Tactical Elite Edition. The American editions will be revealed at a later date.

Rainbow Six: Siege pre-orders will be rewarded with guaranteed access to the Closed Beta, “which will begin at a later date this year”. Pre-orders of the physical version from the Uplay Shop will also receive an exclusive numbered steel book.

  • The Art of Siege Edition: includes the full game, a collector’s box, a Gold Skins Pack for all in-game weapons and an exclusive 120 page Tactical Guide. This high quality guide includes every single key element of the game – detailing each Counter Terrorist Unit, Operators, weapons, and maps with the highest level of detail and statistics. All this content has been created with the development team and core gamers’ advice, giving you the most effective results in the field.
  • The Gold Edition: includes the Standard Edition and the Season Pass*.
  • The Tactical Elite Edition: a very limited edition available exclusively on the Uplay Shop that will include both Art of Siege Edition and Season Pass.

  • Multiplayer only? Well, that's a damn shame. Have been waiting for a RS game for years now, but I guess I won't be playing this.
  • pass.
  • Is there really no COOP campaign, that was one of the main draws for me for the previous games, I may have to give this a pass then, I have it pre ordered and access for beta when available, that will change my mind I guess.
  • with the right group of friends this will be good but would be a struggle with random players
  • Ubisoft is "eh" at best with MP and the Rainbow Six series is already dead, this will not make a good come back from all that I have seen. This whole push toward MP all the time is just down right annoying.
  • They can call it Siege, but in my eyes this is successor to SWAT series from PC. I personally can't wait! It's close quarters enough that you shouldn't need friends to excel and with hardcore settings on every action will count. Still waiting to hear if there will be any other games I could pick up in October, but if not this will be day one=)
  • Bloody hell - Ubisoft comes through with another epic fail... @3: Never mind a co-op campaign, as far as I know there's no campaign at all - online MP only. And that would be fine with me - the MP looks fantastic...But: there's no way this isn't going to be a full-priced game, AND it's going to have a season pass; so what will the season pass be for? Seeing as how it's online MP only, the season pass will almost certainly be for new maps, which means eventually the player base will separated from each other: those who won't buy map packs/season pass and those who will, which means that this game will eventually turn into most online MP games: populated by a handful of no-lifers that only play R6 online. All Ubi had to do was release the game (at full-retail price) and say "no season pass, free maps going forward" and they would have had a day 1 purchase from me; but, of course, Ubi being Ubi...not so much. And, as it is now - nickel-and-diming right from the start, near certainty the online will rapidly die off - there's no way I'm even going to bother.
  • Are we 100% sure there's no campaign or cooperative modes, or has Ubi just been focusing on the competitive MP too much? It seems silly to go online competitive only.
  • If there is no single player campaign, I'm out.
  • Who is going to buy this when MGS5 is coming out in September?!
  • Definitely thought this trailer at last years E3 felt like a SWAT game. Sad to hear you can't play offline with AI but still fancy this one. No doubt the MP only will hurt it like it has Titanfall and Evolve.
  • may pre-order at ebgames to get the beta key, then cancel.
  • There is single player in the game according to someone who is working on the game but he said that last year so it may have changed
