PlayStation 4's v2.50 firmware update, codenamed 'Yukimura', will introduce a slew of new features when it goes live tomorrow, including the long-awaited suspend/resume function that enables you to jump out of games into rest mode without having to quit.

You can get a complete rundown of what update 2.50 will bring to your PS4 from tomorrow, below:

PlayStation 4 v2.50 Update

Features coming to PS4 with “Yukimura” include:

  • Suspend/Resume* — Supported by nearly all of your PS4 games, you can jump in and out of your games with just the press of the PS button. Quickly switch from Rest Mode to powered-up so you can pick up where you left off.

    • Join Friends directly from news feed — A new tile will be added on your What’s New feed where you can see what your friends are currently playing, enabling you to join in the game if you own it.
  • Share Earned Trophies and Optimize Your Trophy List — We know that Trophies are important to many gamers, so we’re bringing more control with how you show them off:
    • Automatic Trophy Screenshots — A screenshot will automatically be captured when a Trophy is earned, preserving the moment to share with friends.
    • SHARE Trophies — Players can share Trophy information to Facebook, Twitter or via Message by pressing the SHARE button.
    • Additional Trophy sorting options — Sort your Trophy list by Earned Date, Not Earned and Grade.

This update also enables PS Vita to support 60 fps streaming for Remote Play**.

We’re excited for you to get your hands on these new features and experience them for yourselves. You have all been such a big part of our successes, and we have carefully listened to your requests to make your PlayStation experiences even better. We’re happy to be delivering many of them with “Yukimura.” Please keep the feedback flowing, so we can continue making PlayStation 4 the best place to play.

  • Delete 0% Trophies — Finally!!
  • Some nice stuff here. I do like that I can see which of my friends have a certain game, and of course 0% removal should be good for those who try a game and don't like it.
  • Lemme know when you add login notifications for favorite friends.
  • Yay!
  • Thank god for the suspend/resume feature will save time and ear ache(battlefield 4 menu)
  • Customized button assignments? Why is no one mentioning how awesome that is?
  • I like that they're finally adding taking off 0% games, just wish they could work out a way that you can take off games that you have at least 10% on, seems like I have hundreds of games with only one or two trophies on
  • @7 I agree would of been nice to get rid of those games off my list too. Have a bunch of games with 1-2 trophies as well. But I'm still happy with what we got.
  • This firmware update is awesome, I hope in future patch they'll let us change the controller's light color to our liking, not that I mind that much about it, but it would be nice to have the option.. a few more lines of codes, come on Sony! Keep it up!
  • is the option to remove games with 0% just for PS4 titles and/or PS3 & Vita titles as well?
  • This is all well and good but I would still like to see some media playback options similar to the PS3 and not just from the USB, from the HDD would be nice.
  • @1: Yes and it works like a charm! @10: It is working with all titles (PS3/PS4/Vita). You can simply use the "Delete" function and erase those with 0%. I have already did it since I have 2.50 beta 1 software :]. List looks way much better now! "Delete" option don't appear on the titles with >0%.
  • Can you delete DLC trophy lists with 0% on games you've platinumed or is it only full game lists it works on? Would be nice to show the on disc trophy % without reducing it due to DLC.
  • @13: No, you can't do that.
  • I would be interested in learning how much electricity is utilized in suspend/resume mode.
  • Now hopefully somewhere in one of these updates they make it possibly to change your PSN ID because I really am tired of mine lol
  • Finally the ability to remove 0% games!
  • Remove 0% ? I want to be able to remove the whole list whether it's 0% 10% 50% 99% 100% why will they not let us manage our trophies. When will they add unoffical bluetooth mic support, either got to wear that c**p earbud with the wire that falls out of your ear all the time, use the cam that has horrible feedback or wear a full headset just to speak. I just want to be able to use a microphone like you could with the PS3, i don't want to have something in/on my ear or head all the time just to speak to someone.
  • This update is pretty good, but... I wish we could just turn off the light on the controller, its too bright even when you lower the brightness, controllers would last longer as a result (hopefully). they also need to improve the internet browser controls because they are horrible.
  • @6 Because I'm sure it's only for buttons used in the XMB. It'd be nice if you could control button mapping through the PS4 for games, though. @18 Why not just get a better quality chat headset that plugs into the controller or buy a USB chat headset? There are plenty out there that aren't huge and have good quality.
  • @20 because I don't like sitting there with headsets on there's other people in my house I speak to while gaming and i can't hear them if I have a headset on. Really don't want a wired headset/earpiece at all, I have a tiny jack microphone but it doesn't work because sony won't allow us to set voice chat to come through tv speakers like you could on PS3, it does work for the voice commands but that's a pointless feature IMO. I find myself not speaking to people as much as I did on PS3 on ps4 because of this, I always have people asking if I have a mic when doing co-op trophies but I refuse to ignore my family just to speak on a game but I do wish I could communicate sometimes to help out.
  • We need to remove trophy list with few trophies earned...
  • @18, I hope they never add the option to delete any game from your trophy list. Some people will delete games they can't platinum so it will look like they are better than they really are. However they should make that option available for games that never could be platted, for exmaple due to glitched trophies. If you want to try/test a game, just use a different account.
  • Sounds like a good update this :)
  • @19 That light on the controller doesn't take that much of a battery charge, on a fully charged controller, that light takes 2% of the battery, it's an LED, so no big deal really
  • When they say "Back-Up and Restore HDD to USB" they mean an external drive, not just a USB stick, right? I hope so, cause getting a 1TB external for $100 is cheaper than getting a 1TB thumb drive for $1000.
  • #18, God forbid you get hacked, someone may delete all of your platinums for the hell of it. Then you'll complain about how Sony made it possible to delete any percentage we want. Think about that before not being grateful for getting something at the least.
  • I don't think any of these things will make any difference to anything I do.
  • @23 it's actually a platinum I want to delete as no one plays the game online anymore so can't finish the DLC, not arsed if I lose the platinum 100% is where it's at, that's why I believe all trophies should be obtainable offline because when servers shut down or no one plays the game no longer it's impossible to get the trophies if your good enough or not. And so what if people want to delete games they can't platinum, what consern is that of yours ? Worry about yourown acomplishments not other people's. @27 I'm sure they could store them so if you delete anything off your profile you can look back say on a secure webpage and re-up anything you deleted. It would be nice atleast if when trying games out to be able to select game trophies you want to upload to your gamertag instead of it automatically uploading as soon as you look at your trophy list. What is the point of only being able to delete 0% trophy lists ? I mean come on you play a prolog and DING pops a trophy how would you know you like/dislike the game before that happens.
  • We should be able to delete trophy lists for games we try and it should not matter how many trophies are earned , why ? because it's my trophy history and it should be up to me what data gets to be in there for the rest of my GOD givin life . We should be able to turn trophies off when playing a game we don't want to earn trophies in . It's our profile we should have control over it .
  • Why not games with 1% or more?
  • @30 are you sure your profile belongs to you? and not sony.
  • "Delete 0% Trophies — Remove games from your Trophy list that have zero percent completion." HOW ABOUT SONY, you set up a standard RULE that games will stay 100% completion once you get the PLATINUM. DLC trophies will still be added but will NOT AFFECT the 100% status of your completed game. The only bonus gamers get is the additional "trophy points" you add on your PSN profile to level up. It's about TIME we stop getting blackmailed by f***ers like thos guys who do zombies, aliens and exo-zombies on a freaking COMBAT game to buy their season's pass. Why should we (those that had completed the main game) SUFFER just because these gamedevs have an ego trip? A platinum must feel like a proper platinum and stay 100% regardless of DLC. DLC will just be a plus to add trophy POINTS instead. Sounds freaking fair!
  • ... anyway to add more on why we can only delete 0% trophies at the moment is because of BIG COMPLICATED HASSLE the PSN servers have to sort out in recalculating your PSN profile score/level. You delete a game that's say... 46% (for whatever reason: game is dead, online is dead, or just simply freaking hard) - imagine the recalculation it's going to take to take out the bronze, silver and gold trophy points. It's going to be messy and I'm sure the servers are going to get bugged down. It's probably going to take more than just a few taps on the keyboard for the code.
  • What time generally do these updates go live?
  • and i STILL cant look at my trophy list without being online!?!?
  • @33 you will have people in the other side of that as well, that only buy dlc when there are trophies, and might be less inclined if they feel like they are hidden. I think I nice balance would be to do with all dlc what most stand alone dlc do and make it a separate list. Festival of blood had its own 100% and did not touch the infamous % and I think that makes everyone happy.
  • I just got the update and it felt good getting rid of the games with 0% trophies :)
  • @37 Festival of Blood DLC type sounds okay. Say the Season's Pass DLCs will have its own TROPHY LIST... yeah I like that idea as well. It's very much doable and very easy to implement. As to what I have said. The DLC trophies won't be hidden. They will be there, but only will be added to the list when you download the DLC and it applies a trophy patch. Now this sounds more complicated compared to your IDEA which I really like now. Yeah better to have a separate trophy list for the Season Pass. Say for example: Call of Booty: Dark Ops III (PS4/PS3)--- Main game Call of Booty: Dark Ops III (DLC)--- Season's pass DLC... which only adds to your cabinet once you have downloaded the DLC. This idea of Jerric looks really promising... I hope Sony finds a way to implement this, even for games that adds about 50% more trophies through DLCs.
  • ... actually I think I was a bit conservative on that separate trophy list idea. It should be done: Call of Duty: Ghost (100% + PLATINUM) Call of Duty: Extinction (100%) if you download the DLC/Season's Pass... Same goes to: Call of Duty: Black Ops II (100% + PLATINUM) Call of Duty: Zombies (100%) and YES this should be separate since it has nothing to do with combat - just zombies so it's but a fair idea to give its own trophy list and leave US Platinum earners alone in enjoying our unblemished (albeit un-blackmailed) 100% + Platinum.
  • I should be able to delete games that I don't want like fucking sing star I dont play it and it was only added to my list because my girlfriend played on my profile on PS3 last year because it auto signed in because of auto upload for PS+, I should be able to delete the likes of MAG too because you can't play that game anymore as the servers have been shut down and that's a SONY game or published by them for gods sake even Resistance 2 I should be able to delete games with online trophies and there servers shut down I should be able to remove.
  • Also if they can be able to add a feature like remove trophies how about they add a feature for me to be able to remove theme, demos and trailers off my f****** download history list it's currently 6xx items i counted 245 items as trailers demos and themes it would make searching for old games and dlc so much easier.
  • I don't understand the desire to delete not 100%ed trophy lists. It's part of my "gaming history" and if I have a game at 0%, there's probably a reason for it and I have no problem with that being there. Same with whatever other percentage. One thing I'd seriously like to have is an option to create some sort of additional trophy list that contains only games I put in there manually. Like, "Currently Working On".
  • i think im the ONLY person who does not mind these 0% titles being in my list. i have a massive back catalog of games and ps+ titles to get back to. this is a handy reminder for me which games i need to start playing again LOL
  • So I need to buy a PS4 to delete the 0% Singstar from my PS3 list..?
