This Week on the PSN (The NTSC Edition)

Dan Webb

It's a pretty good week on the PSN if you ask us... not only do you get the chance to sample the delights of the Mafia II consumer demo to see whether it's your cup of tea, but you can also get in the Scott Pilgrim mood with the release of the downloadable game.

That's not all though, oh no, this week also sees the first piece of Red Dead Redemption premium DLC drop - the multiplayer-centric Legends and Killers pack, which we thought was pretty rad if you're in to Red Dead's multiplayer - as well as the latest piece of Dragon Age DLC.

So plenty to sink your teeth into I think you'd agree. Get the credit card out, it could be an expensive week!

  • downloaded the MAfia II demo, and the SUm 41 track pack looks awesome
  • Actually annoyed with the + stuff this month. Have to wait till the end of the month for the PS1 and PSN game from it? The horrible minis (that are often priced quite high for what I'd think a 'mini' would be worth) are just cop outs it seems so the developer doesn't have to make trophies. On the other hand Scott Pilgrim is a pretty rad game.
  • Top Gun ha ha ha ha
  • playstation plus blows... what a dissapointment... 50 dollars for stuff you might want but most likely already have if you like it... i dont see how it is benefitting people...
  • its august 10 how is that the END of the month? Stop griping about PS+ on the trophies site. Wes hould be happy to get at least one free trophy off the red dead redermption trial-play the tutorial! Take your gripes to the PS+ survey, not here. Ilove PS+ and ps3trophies.org
  • I was excited to see Crash Team Racing in the store yesterday. That was my first PS game with my Playstation back in Xmas 2000. Now my Naughty Dog's Crash Bandicoot collection is complete. And Scott Pilgrim the game, I have more time to play it this afternoon. So far, it's fun. Challenging, but fun. It needs online co-op.
  • @#5 - He's entitled to his opinion, just as you are. If he's annoyed with PlayStation +, then it's his choice to air his concerns here. So long as it's on topic, which it is. And so long as it's not a direct attack on another member, which it's not.
  • Sweet CTR is the shit! Nothing really else thats notable.
  • Finally!! I've been waiting for CTR to be released since I got my PS3. I loved playing that game
  • CTR and the Ministry track pack rule! 3 of the best songs on Rock Band.
  • Mafia II Demo, Scott Pilgrim and the free PS+ items.
  • why does america get the naughty bear add on 1st? eu got the game a few does earlier so we should get the add on 1st! we dont even get it this week...best get it next week ¬_¬ plus wana c a Valkyria Chronicles 2 Demo emerging
  • @5 thats cool that you like it, i was really hyped when it was coming out, but... the main demo of people that are going to actually pay the 50 dollars are hardcore gamers... hardcore... but then its all discounts and games picked by them... in the end its hundreds of dollars of discounts, but like i said before if you were willing to shell out 50 for ps+ you probably bought alot of the stuff u wanted to before that... i like the idea of exclusive demos and stuff but i just dont see how sony thought this one through... does this make a little more sense?
  • Pixeljunk Racers: 2nd Lap was free for me with my PS+....
  • sweet ctr i would by it but istill have it for ps1
  • i thought the ps+ stuff would all come at the beginning of the month :P whatever, im starting to wonder if i made the right choice
  • Decent store update but the PS+ content is looking really underwhelming...
