A set of new, free maps have been released for Killzone Shadow Fall multiplayer and Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept.

The competitive multiplayer map is called The Stature, while the co-op Intercept maps are called The ATAC Tower and The Canal. You can find vids, screenshots and full descriptions from Guerrilla below.

The Statue – competitive multiplayer map

After a cataclysmic explosion laid waste to their precious monument, the Helghast embarked on the massive task of reconstructing the Scolar Visari memorial statue and the adjacent armoury building. While the recreational wing of the facility is largely completed, the armory itself is still covered in scaffolding and building equipment.

Choose your base exit carefully on this map, as there are many different routes providing fast and easy access to all extremes of the combat area. The warren of interconnecting rooms will allow for clever flanking manoeuvres once you know your way around, and you can gain an additional advantage by maintaining control of the large mechanical doors.

The ATAC Tower – cooperative map

Perched inside the Helghast security wall, the ATAC Tower functions as a base for the ATAC drones patrolling New Helghan’s borders. The drones have proven to be an effective deterrent against Vektan invaders and Helghast defectors, so the VSA is sending in Intelligence Squad Alpha to secure the tower. Their orders are to establish an uplink and transmit the ATAC control codes back to HQ – but they’ll have to fight with their backs to the wall to hold off the Helghast forces converging on their position.

The Canal – cooperative map

Fallen into disuse after the New Helghan government abandoned hydroelectric power, the Canal has become an overgrown riverbed filled with discarded junk and debris. A key VSA informant used one of the abandoned treatment facilities along the banks as a hideout before disappearing, so now it’s up to Intelligence Squad Alpha to send the collected intel back to Vekta. But it won’t be easy – Helghast security has discovered the hideout as well, and they’ll do anything to prevent Alpha from establishing an uplink.

  • Really happy to see they give away so many free maps, a lot more devs should do this. Not saying everything should be free, but it always is a nice surprise.
  • So Canals is the same as competitive map? Looks like it... Now that Destiny is out, I all but gave up on this game. Great graphics with solid MP and amazing gunplay destroyed by lack of features at launch and some weird design decisions in UI and stat screens... At this point it's too little too late as only the most hardcore fans are left playing. Last time I checked it was hard to find full lobby of players and while new content might boost a number of players for a week or so, this will not last. Shame really...
  • Owns the game, still never bothered to play it
  • will anyone be playing this! DESTINY is out don'cha know!!!! ;D
  • I keep wanting to get into the multiplayer but as a noob it's hard to get an edge in when most lobbies seem to end up clan vs clan. It's either wind up on the winning team while doing what I can to get points or end up on the losing team and get destroyed.
  • Misleading headline is misleading. The article states there is only one new map for Shadow Fall and two new maps for Interceptor, not three new maps for each.
  • Since they created this map pack DLC folder thingy or whatever the fuck it is I can't find any new DLC for this game on the store , I've no idea how to Access this DLC thingy they set up. WTF have they done. What a nightmare. They may give free maps to us but no one can actually access them ... Grrrrrr!!!!
  • @#7 If you have game installed just go on dashboard, scroll to the bottom (related items I think or something) and click on it. It will then take you to all of DLC along with free content that you can download from there. Every game is like that and I like it way better than having to go to store just to find some DLC for game I have.
