This latest Assassin's Creed: Unity video decides to get a bit technical, offering a behind the scenes look at the game's overhauled AnvilNext engine, redesigned to new-gen specs. The video talks about how the development team has meticulously built Paris at the height of the French Revolution down to the smallest detail.

For instance, Notre Dame has been fully-realised in-game as an almost 1:1 replica. This apparently took almost a year to achieve. Creative Director Alex Amancio offers up other such technological feats in the new trailer, which you can watch below.

Assassin's Creed: Unity also promises refined fighting skills and combat, as well as an immersive atmosphere, enveloping Arno as he stalks the cobbled Parisian streets. Assassin's Creed: Unity is out on October 28th, 2014. Check out our preview here.

  • I'm burnt out on AC at this point. Last year was first time when I didn't get one on release and this year will be no different. also, they are dropping MP, which was IMO one of the more unique MP offerings around. Will get this at a later date when I start aching for some air assassinations again;-)
  • Im looking forward to it. Im not going to go and get too excited for any real advanced changes or anything, but Ive enjoyed the other AC games enough to look forward to the next gen release. Im not super caught up with this one, does anyone know if you can actually crouch and sneak without having to be standing in tall grass?
  • I am very happy Ubisoft dropped mp this time and I hope there are lots of different outfits to choose from because the ones in these videos suck , overall the game looks great .
  • @2 Yup, from what I've seen crouch has been added.
  • @2 - I'm pretty sure we saw some of that in E3's gameplay video.
  • @4 & 5 Thanks. The video up top is the only one Ive seen so far, and they seemed to reference it but I wasnt sure. For all I knew it was some contextual thing but they are pretending its some huge advancement. Thats good though... took long enough. I hated that I couldnt sneak around unless there were patches of grass, and I had to stand up and run between patches.
  • Good news they dropped the multiplayer, so that's made me interested in assassins creed again. Now i just hope the co-op is optional, i prefer to complete my trophy lists on my own without the need to rely on other people. Trophies should show your own achievements not everyone elses who you played with.
  • The crowds look amazing and if they avoid the strict mission structure of previous titles and doing some real open world interaction, this could really become a great entry in the series. Absolutely looking forward to it.
  • hahahahah…. "a revolutionary thinking from our design team" ??? and this is all you can come up with?? of course it has to be nothing AC like nothing before if this is a "reset" for AC "each crowd provides you with valuable cover"?! no shit! I would really like to see Ubisoft make some AC games with this new gen console, get some experience on the team BEFORE making this game… if this is the "height" of the french revolution on the 1st PS4 game… the best story has been told while the next few AC games will be better due to feedbacks from players and more time with next gen… just image with AC early days on PS3 and AC near the end of PS3… this is the first AC on PS4… image the end AC games on PS4 now… this story should have been told later… not now… I'm disappointed… bad move imo
