GRID: Autosport Revealed, Skipping PlayStation 4 & Xbox One

Following last week’s tease, Codemasters’ next game has been revealed. It’s called GRID: Autosport.

Although currently unconfirmed by Codemasters themselves, GRID: Autosport was outed by BrasilGamer in a report which contains both info and a set of images.

According to the report, GRID: Autosport will contain five modes, 22 locations and over 100 tracks. Night drive marathons will appear, while players can earn sponsorships and compete in weekly challenges.

It’s believed that GRID: Autosport will be the largest GRID game to date and it’s launching on June 27th for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Why no PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version? Well, Codemasters hasn’t even revealed the game formally yet, so nothing is confirmed, but expect install bases and the series’ established EGO 3 engine to play a part in the reasoning.

A proper announcement is expected at 4pm today, though the report may force Codemasters' hand to make it a little earlier.

The last game in the GRID series was GRID 2, a quality racing title with the very best trophy list the world has ever seen (possibly).

  • Screenshots look PS4-quality, probably taken from a high-end pc though
  • too bad it's not for next gen, I want something to motivate me to buy a PS4
  • I want something to motivate me to even play my ps4, just gathering dust atm.
  • grid 2 was tiresome and drift happy with an online full of wankers doing destruction derby well before that mode was introduced. it was half the game the original was. i wanted a british toca touring car game with full licence and made specifically for the new gen of console, then port it down to the last one,so fed up with either they cut the new machines out or port the other way.
  • If this is true then count me out. I live in 2014, not 2006. My old consoles aren't even hooked up anymore.
  • It is kinda to bad it isn't coming to PS4... I guess I can't expect every game to be on PS4 till at least next year or so but still =( ... I want a quality racing game on PS4 (NFS Rivals doesn't count -_- ) and Driveclub is no-where to be seen yet!
  • In my opinion codemasters has taken a huge shit over the past couple years with grid2 and dirt3. If they cant afford to appease us next gen owners and release it on ps4 then im just gonna skip this title altogether. Screw you codebusters.
  • keep the ps3 games a coming, I am in no rush to go next gen, 2016 I would say may be time for me. I got my ps3 in 2010, best decision I ever made, loads of awesome cheap triple A games, and its only got better and better. Intend to do same with ps4
  • #8 I did the same thing last gen, but this gen I bought it this February. And it's been a mistake ever since. -_-
  • Sorry, but this feels more like a cost saving approach than catering to 'core audience' The engine is done, the tracks are probably a rehash of what has already been, so a few tweaks, couple of new cars, and bam! New release. To move to current gen would require more time, more effort, and more money. Of course, in a year, we will see a re-release "Complete Edition", with all of the over priced DLC packed in, for the PS4 and X1. Yay...not.
  • I enjoyed the trophy list appart from the racenet trophy that was totally glitched! Dropped a bollock their boys so don't put your name on this one! Not that I'll be buying this game. I have a ps4 now. Pisses me off that they at least won't port it. Oh well. It'll probably handle like a bag of spanners anyways like the last grid. Aimed at 12 year olds with no real challenge
  • this is a joke…. not on PS4…. not buying this then… or IF it is decent I will wait till its "dirt" cheap… dumb codemasters…
