New content has been added to Watch Dogs since the game's delay, Ubisoft has confirmed, with the recently revised Australian classification taking into account the new additions.
"The entire development team has been working hard to polish and fine tune Watch Dogs in order to deliver a truly memorable open world game," Ubisoft confirmed in a statement. "In parallel, the extra time also allowed the team to include a bit of additional content. As per Australian classification guidelines, Ubisoft resubmitted the updated version with the added content to the Australian Classification Board (ACB). The decision to amend the rating of the game from MA15+ to R18+ was made by the ACB."
In response to the updated Australian R18+ rating, the Australian Classification Board offered a little more clarity. You can read about the details of the offending mature content below, but be wary of **spoilers**.
"Included in the game's storyline are instances of human trafficking which include female non-playing characters being sold at a human auction," the ACB report reveals. "While the game does not contain actual sexual violence or implied sexual violence that is visually depicted, interactive, not justifed by context or related to incentives or rewards, the Board is of the opinion, having regard to the above, that the game contains post-action visuals related to sexual violence."
Watch Dogs promises to be laden with content, with the game's Creative Director Jonathan Morin claiming that'll it'll take "35-40" hours to complete, with a completionist run clocking in around 100 hours.
"I would say the average player which does free roam a bit tend to reach the end within 35-40h," said Morin via Twitter. "But doing everything is close 100h."
Watch Dogs is out on May 27th. The PS3 and PS4 versions also include 60 minutes of exclusive content.
