New Borderlands 2 TK Baha's Bloody Harvest and Level Cap DLC Announced

As suspected, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep won't be the last Borderlands 2 DLC, and the next campaign pack won't be quite what you're expecting either it seems. During its PAX Australia Panel, Gearbox announced the fifth story expansion for Borderlands 2, as well as a second Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack.

The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 will bring a further 11 levels to the current level cap, making it possible to reach level 72, and a new Digistruct Peak Challenge. You'll also be able to 'over level' using the pack to make things tougher for seasoned Vault Hunters. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said that the pack will be out sometime before October 31st this year, will be separate to the Season Pass, won't require any other DLC to play and will cost $5.

A free update is also on the cards, increasing maximum ammo storage for players, as well as available bank slots and inventory capacity. Eridium will be used to purchase the new upgrades in-game, so you can finally put the purple substance to good use, if like us you've got loads of the stuff to spare.

Last, but definitely by no means least, the fifth campaign expansion will be called T.K Baha's Bloody Harvest, and will include throwbacks to the first Borderlands' Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC. You'll even fight another huge pumpkin monster called Jacques O’Lantern. It's fairly safe to assume this won't be included with the Season Pass either.

And if you're worried that you might not get to visit the Hyperion moon base in Borderlands 2 anytime soon, fret not. Pitchford says that the team is planning to release one or two more DLC packs in the future.

One of the few games im not gonna bitch about DLC out of the Season Pass. This and Battlefield are the only games I give a shit enough about to buy more DLC. I wish they would atleast give pass holders 50% off of something.

Didn't he die in the first game?

Asking people to pay out after they've already bought the season pass just reeks of money grabbing. Way to piss off your fan base.

@3 They've specified from the beginning that the season pass will be for 4 DLCs. Not all season passes (apparently) contain all the downloadable content for the game. I personally don't mind as I got my season pass 50% off.

Wonder why they just couldn't do this from the start? Didn't they say it wasn't possible, or nearly impossible? So much loot, so little space.

@3

I would usually agree with that, but this is not some little skin pack, it's a full on add-on, you already saved some cash by getting the pass instead of buying separate.

Guessing you're not a 'fan' then? Because I am and not pissed off in the slightest, I would say value for money but that's just my opinion.

Y'know, I really enjoyed Dragon's Keep, especially after three extremely lacklustre packs that were nothing more than filler, but this one...

Filler is the only word I can thing of to describe it. Basing an entire dlc expansion around a forgettable npc from the first game, especially after the teaser at the end of Dragons Keep reeks of, as #3 said, a money grab.

I'm not complaining that this pack isn't included in the season pass, my gripe is that this sounds like a pointless waste of time.

Just give us the Hyperion Moonbase pack, thats all we need!

@6:

They only ever said it would be difficult to add more storage space because of the finite amount of memory they have to play with but they would try to increase it if they could. After the first storage increase they learned a lot more about the limits of the game engine and how far they could push it.

i wouldn't have a problem had it not been for the first 3 dlcs being not worth even the season pass money. plus i feel they should have done the level cap ups earlier so people didn't waste all their time grinding only finding out that the level cap increases would make their very low drop rate oranges they worked for entirely useless

The first add on was good at the time, can't remember what it was even about. Tourque's was hilarious and very memorable. The Sir Hammerlock sucked. Haven't been able to play te new one yet, have it downloaded but I've been playing Last of Us and Deadpool recently so I don't want to return to borderlands just yet

With the return of the very dead TK Baha, the "throwback" to the Zombie Island DLC and I'm guessing overall Halloween/campy horror feel of this, all I can think of is three words....

ZOMBIE. GENERAL. KNOXX.

Please?

@8 I don't comment on games I'm not a fan of.

The difference is I'm not blinded by PR bullshit. Fact is so far the 4 DLC so, all have been a bit short for my liking and only 2 I'd say I have enjoyed.

As you people are entitled to their opinion and mine is unless it's a couple of quid, I won't be touching it.

You know I'm late to the Borderlands party, and only started to play through the first game earlier this year even though I've had it and BL2 since September. I last left off at Trash Coast, and TK is still my favorite NPC in the game. It was shocking to see him get killed off so quick, especially in just a side mission. I didn't know about him coming back in the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC, but now that makes me want to play it even more now, along with this when it releases.

Wow.

Are they trying to beat Dragon Age: Origins for most DLC on one game?

Apart from Hammerlock's, most of the DLC has been very good.

I don't know if I'll keep riding the DLC train. I wanted Hyperion moon base since I beat the game, and while I have enjoyed the Season Pass content, I can't justify spending $5 or $10 or even more when I could buy new games with that money. I'll buy the moon base DLC when it releases (possibly other DLCs if they go on sale), but for now I'm gonna Christian Bale.

I bet there will be level cap raises until 125 lvl (which is when you can have all the skills I think). Unless that's impossible due to console limits?

I feel bad for people who grind for the best loot (legit players). First all that time wasted on lvl 50 loot and now lvl 61 loot is gonna become useless in three months.

I agree on the hole them not being long.
The DLC skins were different in looks compared to the in-game ones.
Gearbox, make them both long, enjoyable AND less rushed

Borderlands 2 was one of the 2 games I've payed full price for Day 1 of release. Mainly because I had some friends that were getting it and I wanted to play with them. Being someone who tries to keep a 100% on every game in my profile, I also unwillingly forked money over for the Season Pass.

I enjoyed the game (not 3 of the 4 DLCs), but it's this endless releasing of DLC's and "money grabbing" that makes me regret my decision entirely to purchase it early. This is the exact reason I, and I'm sure many other people, will never again purchase Day 1, or be suckered into falling for the Season Pass nonsense, and will wait until the GOTY edition is out and itself has fallen to $20.

This is COMPLETELY wrong. In the livestream, Pitchford and Gearbox said that "T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest" will be a small, one or two area expansion where your goal is to kill a tough boss, known as a "Headhunter Pack", NOT a campaign DLC.

Also the "one or two more DLC packs in the future" were also said to be "Headhunter packs".

I won't mind the Headhunter Packs if they're say $5 a pop. I'll definitely be getting the Digistruct Peak DLC, though. And, hell, even if its $10, I gotta see ol' Baha, again, lol.

I'm hoping these 2-3 Headhunter Packs come out in quick succession, though, to lead up to another DLC featuring the Hyperion moonbase and on the tier of TTAoDK.

The three previous DLC expansions were great, even if Hammerlock was the weakest of the three, more of that dude was cool in my book... but all three were nowhere near as collectively awesome as Tiny Tina was.

Just gimme more in-house DLC!

There will probably be a couple of trophies for each. There are only 70 trophies for the game so far, and I know Burnout and (I think) Killzone 2 both have 90+ trophies, so there is room yet.

@36:

KZ2 has 84 trophies, not 90. There are only 3 games that have 90+ trophies i.e Red Dead Redemption, Burnout: Paradise and Uncharted 3.

My mistake. I knew Burnout wasn't the only one though. My point still stands however, theres still plenty of scope for further Borderlands 2 Trophies.

Regardless of whether or not they specify that the season pass is for four DLC packs or not, it's an asinine concept if it doesn't include EVERYTHING. They've been releasing non-story DLC content not included as well. If I go out and buy season tickets to my favorite sports team, I get tickets to all the games, not just part of them. If they think "season" pass is meant to be taken literally, why not just call them "Winter 2013 Pack", "Spring 2013 Pack", "Summer 2013 Pack", etc.
