Codemasters has just revealed F1 2013, the latest instalment in the Formula One series, which will include a host of classic 80s F1 content introduced by the now-retired voice of F1, Murray Walker.

You'll be able to compete against legendary F1 drivers like Mario Andretti, Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi and Gerhard Berger on classic circuits such as Brands Hatch and Jerez in iconic 1980s cars from Williams, Lotus and Ferrari. This new content will make up F1 2013's new 'Classics' mode.

F1 2013 will feature all of the usual FIA 2013 season drivers and liveries, with all-new drivers, 2013 rules, remodelled handling, tyre changes and split-screen and online multiplayer, while the Classics Mode brings you new 80s content.

Two additional DLC packs will be included with the premium F1 2013 Classic Edition, which adds 90s cars and drivers, such as David Coulthard, Eddie Irvine, Jacques Villeneuve and Alain Prost. These two packs will be available as post-launch DLC for anyone who purchases the standard edition of F1 2013.

Check out the F1 2013 Classic Edition teaser and two hot laps - one on the Nurburgring, one at Silverstone - below. F1 2013 is due out this autumn. There's 15 screenshots in the gallery.

Please let there be an option to have Murray provide commentary for the race as your driving! I miss his great commentary style in the modern F1, as well as his trade-mark catchphrase "and If i'm not very much mistaken..."

Well, there went my plan of getting it once the price drops a bit.
Classic formulas is the best thing that has happened to the series in years.
Now, if they also featured cars from both mid and late 90's when the cars still had the sound and power of V10's and the races were always epic.
Cant have it all this year i guess, where would the incentive to get F1 '14 be then?

Yet another gimmick. The game isn't out yet and there's already DLC plans.

@#8 Nobody cares what you think. People always slam games developers for planning DLC ahead, but when there isn't any DLC for a month, everybody just bitches and whines because there isn't any.

Nobody's holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy it, are they? Or do you just want it because your friends are getting it?

I thought so. I love this franchise, and therefore will be securing a Classic Edition.

I didn't post my opinion so that people could care for what I think. I do, however, care about other people's opinions. Me and my friends are actually against DLC. I never choose a game over the other based on DLC.

In a way, codemasters is pointing a gun to my head, because I am a motorsport enthusiast since the early 90's, my early memories of racing start with F1, hence why that DLC is so advertising for me, which brings me to my point. I don't want it as DLC. If the content is ready from launch, why can't it just come along with the rest of the game?

I love what codemasters are doing with their current game series. I've been playing their games since the first Colin McRae game and always loved the codemasters flavour to racing.
The F1 series is wonderful, as for the first time, you can actually live like an F1 driver. It is simply brilliant and no other game series manages to do that.

I was never force before to get any DLC for any of my games. In fact, I refuse to get any DLC unless it's something that will enhance the gameplay and give me a different experience.

You are entitled to your opinion, it's only fair. I just wished you weren't so arrogant about it.

By the way, the 80s pack will be included in the base game, looking on Shopto.net the "Classic Edition" will be £15 more expensive, that's JUST the 90s pack.

Too much emphasis on multiplayer or this would be a definite buy
