Welcome to the Jackdaw. It's Edward Kenway's ship and essentially your home throughout the duration of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. It'll enable you to freely explore the entirety of Black Flag's vast Caribbean setting, from its azure oceans, white sandy beaches and dense jungle foliage.

In this new gameplay video, featuring commentary from Game Director Ashraf Ismail, you'll see how Edward can seamlessly transition from the deck of the Jackdaw, dive into the sea and emerge on land to loot the bodies of dead pirates. Finding a treasure map you'll be able to search for booty, as shown in the video. It's also got whales.

Sailing to the same Misteriosa temple we were shown during our E3 demo of the next-gen version of Black Flag, the walkthrough shows Edward discovering the lost treasure, boarding enemy ships, recruiting new crew for the Jackdaw and more. It's pretty in-depth stuff.

Check out the walkthrough vid below for a look at PS4 footage. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is out for current-gen platforms on October 29th in North America and November 1st in Europe. It'll be heading to next-gen consoles at a later date. You can also watch our interview with Creative Director, Jean Guesdon here.

  • I like the fact that sync points are now fast travel stations
  • Ooh, sexy.
  • Looking fabulous. I can't wait to see it running on PS4.
  • #3 im pretty sure this gameplay is on PS4 either that or PS3 ;)
  • I am so conflicted if I should just get this for PS3 when it comes out or wait for the PS4 release.
  • did you guys even read the article? it says clearly that the video walkthrough is ps4 footage.
  • Looks good but hopefully not as boring as AC3..
  • It looks great and everything, but I still watch this video and don't feel excited for the game one bit. I'm sure it'll be a good game, but as somebody that has every single Assassin's Creed game, I'm just getting tired of the annual releases. I've kind of lost interest, or at the very least, my interest doesn't compare to when Assassin's Creed II was releasing.
  • @5 you'd only have to wait like a month for the ps4 release i mean, i'd personally say get both but if not, wait for the ps4 version it will be worth it that's what i'm gonna start my ps4 on (since infamous second son won't be out til april...)
