Introduction

WipEout returns in a prequel to the other games showing us the origins of anti-gravity racing. The game contains ten brand new tracks as well as the return of iconic game modes such as Zone, Eliminator, Speed Lap, Time Trial and Race. The game also features cross-play with WipEout HD on the PlayStation 3. This game, like its predecessors, features stunning visuals and an iconic electronica soundtrack. There is a definite step down from the difficulty that the series is known for, but the game still features a couple of difficult trophies. There is nothing really to worry about with regards to missable trophies and glitches, but you do need to play through both the Single Player and Multiplayer Campaign at least once. All trophies are relatively straightforward and are easily accessible as you progress through the game.

I found the following ships sufficient to earn the platinum but people have different racing styles so if one ship is failing you, try another. Feisar Speed is your starting ship so I haven't included it in any of these lists. We recommend using this ship if you haven't unlocked any of the ships listed in each event. We have only included ships we used several times and not ones that were only used once such as in its' Prototype event:

  • Race: Feisar Prototype, Qirex Speed and Pir-hana Speed
  • Combat: Qirex Figher
  • Zone: Ag-Systems Agility
  • Time Trial: AG-Systems Agility, Qirex Speed, Pir-hana Speed and Feisar Prototype
  • Speed Lap: Pir-hana Speed and Pir-hana Prototype are the only two ships required for trophies. See "Beat Zico" and "Perfect Pir-hana" respectively.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Single Player Campaign

I highly recommend that you play through the Single Player Campaign first, especially if you have never played a WipEout game before. It will allow you to get a feel for the game, learn the tracks, and earn XP to unlock new ships. To cut down on time, I'd recommend elite passing events as you go. Although this is the highest difficulty, it is very possible to meet the required criteria fairly easily. The game has a steady learning curve and the AI is very forgiving. There are a couple of difficult events but generally, you are well stocked and should be prepared to deal with them. If you are stuck on an event, try some other events and come back later. On your way to "Elite Completist", you will unlock the first 14 trophies listed below. You will most likely unlock "2048 Speed Pads" and "Rank 25" before completion of the campaign too. As you progress, you will also be equipped to unlock "Speed Thrills", "Mach 1.5", "The Unlucky 7" and finally "Beat Zico" when you have finished the campaign. By the end of this step, you should obtain the following trophies, and possibly more:

2048 Champion
2049 Champion
2050 Champion
Completist
Elite Completist
2048 Elite 1
2048 Elite 2
2048 Elite 3
2049 Elite 1
2049 Elite 2
2049 Elite 3
2050 Elite 1
2050 Elite 2
2050 Elite 3
Speed Thrills
Rank 25
Beat Zico
Mach 1.5
The Unlucky 7
2048 Speed Pads

Step 2: Multiplayer Campaign and Clean Up - Unobtainable due to server closure

Note: This part requires an online pass, which you get with a new copy of the game either physical or digital or from the PS store for a price.

Now that you have experience with the game, now is the time to step into the online modes of WipEout 2048. You will spend the majority of your time here as there are 210 events, averaging at about 15 minutes per event. Some events are very straightforward, requiring you to just play and maybe hit an opponent with a weapon. However as you go on, you need to hit specific opponents, beat opponents, destroy ships and gradually move up the leaderboards. When you begin playing, you will unlock "Multiplayer Begins" and as long as you progress with at least a pass on every event, you will definitely unlock the first six trophies listed below from "Multiplayer Begins" to "Multiplayer Completist". You should comfortably unlock "50 Kills" as long as you play combat events as opposed to race events (combat events almost always get voted in.) You will most likely get "Rank 50" during your Multiplayer Campaign so you can also now earn "Perfect Pir-hana" and "Prototype". You will likely finish off the Multiplayer Campaign last, so if you've followed the Road Map accordingly, you will unlock "Multiplayer Finished", "Multiplayer Completist" and "This is WipEout!". By the end of this step, you should obtain the following trophies:

Multiplayer Begins
1 Down, 19 To Go
50 MP Events
Halfway There
Multiplayer Finished
Multiplayer Completist
50 Kills
Rank 50
Prototype
Perfect Pir-hana
This is WipEout!

Step 3: Clean Up

You should have all of the trophies by now, but since several of the miscellaneous trophies such as "Beat Zico", "Mach 1.5", "The Unlucky 7" and "Perfect Pir-hana" could potentially not be obtained because of your level or for some other reason, now is the time to get them. You should now have your Platinum trophy - congratulations!

Introduction

The first set of DLC for WipEout 2048 is a full game of the PS3 version, wipEout HD. You get the full campaign, all HD ships and all tracks. The best thing about this DLC is that it's free if you have WipEout HD on your PS3's download list. The trophies are sadly very easy, as all you have to do is complete the campaign on Novice difficulty and obtain gold medals in all of the events. The game's difficulty all in all seems toned down from HD entirely. For ship choice, I recommend using the Feisar Fury ship as it has brilliant handling which is crucial to winning. Harimau Fury is also a great all round ship, but feel free to choose whichever one best suits your playing style. If you have obtain the 'Elite Campaign Legend' trophy in HD for the PS3, then you will get a gold medal on most of these events first time.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Complete the campaign on Novice difficulty, getting gold medals in everything.

Firstly, you want to start the HD campaign. You will not want to do anything with the difficulty settings, as it will be on Novice by default. Novice is the easiest setting and the AI aren't great here, meaning that they are very easy to beat. The time requirements in the Time Trial and Speed Lap are also very lenient and easy to reach. After completing the final event on 'Meltdown' and if you got gold in everything, you will unlock the following trophies:

Step into HD
Uplift Champion
Warped Champion
Frenzy Champion
Vertigo Champion
Head Rush Champion
Speed Freak Champion
Drop Zone Champion
Meltdown Champion
2048 - WipEout HD All Complete
2048 - WipEout HD All Gold

Step 2: Clean Up

You may have not gotten gold on a certain event. So now is the time and go back and get it. At the end of this step you should have your 100%, congrats!

Introduction

The second DLC for WipEout 2048 is the full version of the WipEout HD DLC, Fury. You get the full Fury campaign, all Fury ships and all Fury tracks. The best thing about this DLC is it's free if you have WipEout HD on your PS3's download list. The trophies are sadly very easy, as all you have to do is complete the campaign on Novice difficulty and get gold medals in all of the events. The game's difficulty all in all seems toned down from Fury entirely. However this campaign is more challenging than HD due to the randomness of the Eliminator events. All of the trophies will come just by playing through the campaign. For ship choice, I recommend using the Feisar ship as it has brilliant handling which is crucial to winning. Harimau Fury also is a great all round ship, but feel free to choose whichever ship best suits your playing style.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Complete the campaign on novice, getting gold medals in everything.

Firstly, you want to start the Fury campaign. You will not want to do anything with the difficulty settings, as they are set to Novice by default. Novice is the easiest setting and the AI aren't too great here, and are therefore very easy to beat. The requirements in the Time Trial and Speed Lap events are also very lenient and aren't too difficult to beat. After completing the final event on 'Aftermath' and providing that you got gold in everything, you will unlock the following trophies:

Leap into Fury
Blitzed Champion
Impact Champion
Voltage Champion
Turbulence Champion
Vortex Champion
Corruption Champion
Nuked Champion
Aftermath Champion
2048 - WipEout HD Fury All Complete
2048 - WipEout HD Fury All Gold

Step 2: Clean Up

You may have not gotten gold on a certain event. So now is the time and go back and get it. At the end of this step you should have your 100%, congrats!

Upon completing all of those with at least a pass, the trophy will unlock. You will also unlock "Completist" and if you got an ELITE Pass on everything you will also unlock "Elite Completist". That's it for the offline campaign.

  • Complete all events in the Single Player Campaign

Simply get a pass in all 60 events in the offline campaign. Passes are easy to obtain and are usually very easy to achieve. They are generally a step down from the elite pass requirements. For example, you may need to win a race for the elite pass and finish just in 3rd place for the pass. The trophy will unlock upon completing the 2050 final.

See "Elite Completist" below for more information.

  • ELITE PASS every event in the Single Player Campaign

    (2)

This is a lot easier to achieve than WipEout HD's infamous Elite Campaign Legend. Firstly, you don't have to select a difficulty. You just need to beat the ELITE requirement to get the event to turn yellow (thus meaning you have an elite pass.) The only ones I had trouble with were some of the combat ones, as these can just be pure luck because it depends what you get from the weapon pads and if you get destroyed by other ships. Some Time Trials also have tough elite pass requirements. Here's a breakdown of the game modes in this game:

Race: This is the simple and most common event across all of the years. A race features 8 players including yourself and you must beat them all (usually over 3 laps.) You also have a range of weaponry at your disposal, which can be used to slow down and destroy your opponents. If you get destroyed, that's game over and you have to restart the race. Remember, make sure you're in the right ship which should be 'Speed' or 'Fighter' for races although as the races are relatively easy, any ship will do.

Time Trial: This is just you racing now. You have to drive 3 laps around a track and beat the time to pass the event. Most of the times are easy to beat if you hit all speed pads and take the shortcuts. I (Harry94) personally used Feisar Speed, because I was used to that ship from HD and I (FootballPsycho) alternated between ships depending on the event. Remember, make sure you're in the right ship which should be 'Speed' or 'Agility' for time trials. Some tracks such as Downtown have a lot of turns and barrel roll opportunities which makes an Agility ship ideal.

Combat: If you have played Eliminator on HD, it's the same as that. You get 1 point for every 10% of health you knock off an opponent. The main aim is to not race and just destroy as many opponents as you can - remember that you can turn around by flicking up the . The plasma weapon is the most powerful as it knocks 64% health off of an enemy with a fully charged direct hit, which will most likely eliminate the opponent straight away. Unlike other events, if you get eliminated in combat you will respawn. Remember, make sure you're in the right ship which should be a 'Fighter' variant for combat events.

Zone: If you've played Zone on HD, then you should be familiar with this as it's basically the same as that. You can't brake here, and your ship will automatically accelerate. The aim here is to survive for as long as you can. As you prgress through the zones, the speed gets faster and faster until your ship is eventually destroyed. I always used Feisar speed or Feisar fighter for zone events. AG-Systems Agility is also a good ship as it has the best handling and is also the joint slowest ship.

Sprint Laps: Same as races, but you only have to race 1 lap. The annoying thing here is that if you want an ELITE pass you have to reach 1st place, and in one lap that can be tricky. Just remember to use a speed ship and fly over every speed pad.

  • Get an ELITE PASS on the C Class Time Trial on Capital Reach in 2048

    ELITE Pass Time: 2:30
    Harry's Best Time: 2.20.55
    FootballPsycho's Best Time: 2.22.56

These events are the big hexagons at the end of each line of events and you have to beat the previous events before you can access these ones. This particular event is the first that you will come across. It's easy to earn this one - as you can see, I beat it by 10 seconds.

  • Get an ELITE PASS on Empire Climb Zone Mode in 2048

    ELITE Pass Zone: 30 Zones
    Harry's Best Zone: 46 Zones
    FootballPsycho's Best Zone: 51 Zones

This event is the hexagon located at the very top (Go up the first event line which goes up). This is pretty simple, and you should have no trouble reaching 30 zones. The trophy will unlock on the score screen if you got an ELITE Pass.

  • Get an ELITE PASS on the C Class Combat Event on Metro Park in 2048

    ELITE Pass Score: 100 Points
    Harry's Best Score: 160 Points
    FootballPsycho's Best Score: 190 Points

This event is located in south-east of the "2048 Elite 2" hexagon. If you unlocked the Qirex Figher ship which is attainable between this Elite event and the previous one, then this is very easy. Just keep hitting the weapon pads and you should have no problems. The AI are weak in comparison to you so you should be able to destroy a lot of ships.

  • Get an ELITE PASS on the B Class Race on Unity Square 2049

    ELITE Pass: Finish 1st
    Harry's Best: 1st (2.14.41)
    FootballPsycho's Best: 1st (2.14.17)

These events are the big hexagons at the end of each line of events - you have to beat the events before these to reach them. This event is located at the very bottom. This is pretty simple as it's only a race and the AI aren't great in this game. Trophy will unlock on the score screen if you got an ELITE Pass.

  • Get an ELITE PASS on the A Class Time Trial on Metro Park in 2049

    ELITE Pass Time: 2:05
    Harry's Best Time: 2.04.71
    FootballPsycho's Best Time: 2.03.70

These events are the big hexagons at the end of each line of events - you have to beat the events before these to reach them. This event is the hexagon around the top right hand corner of 2049 near the Metro Park A+ Challenge if you've unlocked it. This is a tough time trial, but if you use a good speed ship like Pir-hana Speed or similar and successfully take the shortcut on the left near the end, you should be able to beat it. Trophy will unlock on the score screen if you got an ELITE Pass.

  • Get an ELITE PASS on Downtown Zone Mode in 2049

    ELITE Pass Zone: 40 Zones
    Harry's Best Zone: 40 Zones
    FootballPsycho's Best Zone: 41 Zones

These events are the big hexagons at the end of each line of events - you have to beat the events before then to reach them. This event is the hexagon at the very bottom right just before the championship. This is also pretty simple and you should have no trouble reaching 40 Zones, as Downtown is a very wide track. Trophy will unlock on the score screen if you got an ELITE Pass.

  • Get an ELITE PASS on Queens Mall Zone Mode in 2050

    ELITE Pass Zone: 50 Zones
    Harry's Best Zone: 52 Zones
    FootballPsycho's Best Zone: 58 Zones

These events are the big hexagons at the end of each line of events - you have to beat the events before these to reach them. This event is the hexagon at the bottom if you go down the first line you meet. This is pretty simple as yet again, Queens Mall is an easy track for Zone. You should have no trouble reaching 50 Zones, but if you are, then make sure that you're using one of the Agility ships. Trophy will unlock on the score screen if you got an ELITE Pass.

  • Get an ELITE PASS on the A Class Race on Empire Climb in 2050

    ELITE Pass: Finish 1st
    Harry's Best: 1st (2.37.02)
    FootballPsycho's Best: 1st (2.36.87)

These events are the big hexagons at the end of each line of events - you have to beat the events before these to reach them. This event is the hexagon at the bottom just next to the previous ELITE race. As this is a race, you shouldn't have any trouble if you just race how you normally would in a race. Remember to choose a fast ship to give yourself a fighting chance at winning. Trophy will unlock on the score screen if you got an ELITE Pass.

  • Get an ELITE PASS on the A Class Race on Sol in 2050

    ELITE Pass: Eliminate an Opponent

This is just above the 2050 final and is the big hexagon at the end of each line that you first come across. This isn't like your usual race - you will not want to race, but instead just stay behind the Pir-hana and fire missiles at it until it until it gets eliminated. It's easy if you go across all of the weapon pads (it takes about 5 missiles to destroy it.) Trophy will unlock on the score screen if you got an ELITE Pass. That's it for the big events now on the campaign.

  • ELITE PASS all Prototype Ship Challenges

    • Feisar Prototype - Event unlocked at Rank 10.
    • Auricom Prototype - Event unlocked at Rank 20.
    • AG-Systems Prototype - Event unlocked at Rank 26.
    • Qirex Prototype - Event unlocked at Rank 30.
    • Pir-Hana Prototype - Event unlocked at Rank 50.

These are pretty simple to ELITE pass as most are just races. However, they are 10 laps long and take about 10 minutes to complete so are considerably longer than your average race. After ELITE passing all five of them, the trophy will unlock. As you level up from races, passes and elite passes, you unlock more ships.

All five teams have a Prototype Ship which have unique advantages and disadvantages in comparison to regular ships. As you progress through the ranks, you will be informed that you have unlocked a new Prototype Challenge. You must use the Prototype Ship in the challenge. If you pass the challenge, you unlock the ship. For this trophy however, you must elite pass all of the Prototype challenges. These events are unrelated to the "Elite Completist" trophy. The challenges are hidden, but are bulging in the Single Player Campaign selection screen. They can be found by using the rear touch pad to stop it from bulging and it will become still.

Feisar Prototype (Unlocked at Rank 10, event located above where it says "A.G.R.C 2048.)

To elite pass this event, you must finish 1st in an A Class, 10 lap race on the Empire Climb track. The challenge isn't particularly difficult as long as you hit as many speed pads as you can as well as barrel roll and use weapons tactically.

Auricom Prototype (Unlocked at Rank 20, event located just below the Queens Mall zone event where you can unlock the "2050 Elite 1" trophy.)

To elite pass this event, you must score 100 points in a B Class Eliminator game on the Downtown track. This prototype ship is slow and cannot pick up defensive (green weapon pads) weapons. However, it is a very strong ship. The event isn't difficult as long as you pick up weapons and are accurate with them. The enemy ships are also destroyed easily which helps. Be careful not to be destroyed as this will result in a points deduction, however note that the ship does recharge slowly and regains health.

AG-Systems Prototype (Unlocked at Rank 26, event located to the left of the 2050 final event.)

To elite pass this event, you must finish 1st in an A Class, 10 lap race on the Rockway Stadium track. Barrel rolls are key on an agile ship like this and with usual racing tactics, you'll be fine.

Qirex Prototype (Unlocked at Rank 30, event located below the Empire Climb race event where you can unlock the "2050 Elite 2" trophy.)

To elite pass this event, you must score 100 points on a B Class Eliminator game on the Empire Climb track. The Qirex prototype ship can only use the cannon, which is worth 0.30 points per bullet hit. The ship can carry up to 30 clips which recharge over time and can be absorbed if necessary. I'd advise you to focus on just one ship and try to destroy it, as this will grant you an extra five points.

Pir-hana Prototype (Unlocked at Rank 50, event located south-west of the 2048 final event.)

To elite pass this event, you must beat a time of 1:16 in an A Class, 2 lap time trial on the Sol track. This ship is very fast although the handling is very poor and the ship cannot stop. Sol also has very few walls which means you can fall off the track and lose precious seconds. I'd advise you to try the event a couple of times and get an idea of how the ship works and once you can get around the track without falling off, preferably with a perfect lap, you can beat the time comfortably.

  • ELITE PASS any A+ Class Challenge

A+ Challenges are special 10 lap races at the game's fastest speed class. These challenges are not found anywhere else in the game, except for speed laps. The AI are noticeably more difficult than they are in regular events. These challenges are unlocked as you level up and there is one for each track. You must elite pass one of these events to earn this trophy. The elite pass objective of every event is to finish first. None of the events stand out as being significantly easier, but I elite passed Queens Mall and Unity Square without too many problems using Qirex Speed & Feisar Prototype respectively. Race as normal, but I'd recommend going for defensive weapon pads over offensive (Red) weapon pads as Autopilot and Turbo were essential for me personally to win. Look for short cuts and use your weapons wisely. If you are low on health, absorb and if you are very close to an opponent, try using an offensive weapon on them. Once you are in the lead, try to stick to defensive weapon pads again in an attempt to extend your lead. The races last a couple of minutes in total, and the key to victory here is consistency. You will be chasing the pack for a while so don't be too worried if you are still behind after several laps.

The first of these events are unlocked at Rank 26. More events continue to become available as your rank increases.

To earn this trophy, you must finish the first six events of the Online Campaign, which make up the first level. Passing or elite passing an event will grant you access to the next event. You will also access the next event if you fail the event three times. The trophy will unlock upon completion of the sixth event.

  • Finish 50 Online Multiplayer events

    UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

This trophy will come as you progress through the Multiplayer Campaign. The 50th event you will come across is the penultimate event of the seventh level. Finish it, and the trophy is yours.

  • Complete 10 Online Multiplayer Levels

    UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

The trophy will unlock when you complete the 10th level of the Multiplayer Campaign. It takes 80 events in total to complete Level 10. Finish it, and you will obtain this trophy. You don't need to pass or elite pass the events for this particular trophy, however you will need to do so for "Multiplayer Completist."

  • Finish the Online Multiplayer Campaign

    UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

The trophy will unlock when you complete the 20th level of the Multiplayer Campaign. It takes 210 events in total to complete the entire Multiplayer Campaign. Finish the final event and you will obtain this trophy. You don't need to pass or elite pass the events for this particular trophy, however you will need to do so for "Multiplayer Completist." Theoretically, it could take you 630 events to obtain this trophy if you fail every event three times. You must either pass, elite pass or fail the final event three times for the trophy to unlock.

  • Complete all nodes in the Online Multiplayer Campaign

    UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

This trophy is similar to "Multiplayer Finished," but you must either pass or elite pass all 210 events to unlock this trophy. Unlike "Elite Completist", you do not have to elite pass the event although sometimes you may actually find it easier to complete the objectives required for the elite pass. The event will give you certain objectives you must complete in order to pass or elite pass the event. The maximum number of different objectives you will face in an event is three, however note that some of them are somewhat glitched. For example, if your objective is to hit a certain person but they leave or get disconnected, then the objective will not update and you'll be stuck with the same (and now unachievable) requirement. This can't be avoided, so all you can do is hope that it doesn't happen to you.

The objectives you will encounter in all manner of combinations are as follows:

    • Just Play
    • Don't Finish Last
    • Finish In The Top Half
    • Finish 1st
    • Hit Any Player With A Weapon
    • Hit Any 2 Players With A Weapon
    • Hit A Specific Player With A Weapon
    • Hit 2 Specific Players With A Weapon
    • Beat 1 Specific Player
    • Destroy A Ship
    • Destroy 2 Ships

These objectives tend favour the Eliminator mode moreso than Racing, as it's very difficult to destroy ships in a race and still win but it's relatively easy to do so in Eliminator. Weapon restrictions exclusive to races can also make some objectives problematic. When playing online after each event, every player gets to vote for the game mode they want to play. There will always be two events to choose from. One is always a race and the other is always an Eliminator event. Track, speed class, number of laps and weapon restrictions are all variable. I would recommend Qirex Figher (Unlocked from obtaining at least 50 points and therefore passing an Empire Climb Eliminator event in the 2048 campaign) for Eliminator and Pir-hana Speed (Unlocked by finishing 1st and therefore passing an A Class, 3 laps, missile only Altima race event against another Pir-hana speed ship) for races; although you can use any ship that suits your racing style.

Be certain to know which event you're about to play before beginning, because you could end up in an Eliminator event with a speed or agility ship which can make things a lot more difficult. You can change your ship by tapping the ship icon in the event screen. If you are having issues obtaining passes or elite passes in the Multiplayer Campaign, feel free to use the Trophy Boosting Thread. The game will automatically match you up with your PSN friends if possible. Each lobby holds a maximum of eight players and a minimum of four is required to earn passes and elite passes. All games are public so the only way to prevent random players from joining is to fill up your lobby. A link to the Trophy Boosting Thread is located below:

  • Destroy 50 ships in Online Multiplayer

    UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

This trophy isn't particularly difficult, especially if you play a lot of Eliminator events. We personally had over 700 kills across both online and offline when we achieved the Platinum so you shouldn't have a problem achieving just 50 kills online. If you're looking to get this as quickly as possible, then vote for Eliminator when playing online and use a good fighter ship such as Qirex and you shouldn't have too many problems. If you need help obtaining this trophy, feel free to use the trophy boosting thread.

    WipEout 2048 Trophy Boosting Thread

  • Reach Rank 25

See "Rank 50". You should obtain this trophy well before the end of your Single Player Campaign if you obtain an Elite Pass on all of the events.

  • Reach Rank 50

You need a total of 3,800,000 XP to reach Rank 50. Small amounts of XP can be earned from doing certain things in races. For example, a quick start grants 30 XP, speed and weapon pads of any kind as well as barrel rolls grant ten XP, hitting opponents with weapons grants between 1-10 XP depending on the weapon, destroying ships grant 50 XP, completing one zone grants 30 XP etc. However, the large amounts of XP comes from passing and elite passing events. Passing an event grants 10,000 XP and elite passing an event grants an additional 10,000 XP, allowing a maximum of 20,000 XP to be earned from elite passing an event.

By simply passing and elite passing the bare minimum of what's necessary for trophies such as "Elite Completist" and "Multiplayer Completist," you will have 3,420,000 XP. If you Elite Pass 38 of the Multiplayer Campaign events, then you will have enough XP to reach Rank 50 (excluding XP from speed pads, barrel rolls etc,) so there is plenty of room for error here. You'll more than likely elite pass a lot more than 38 events while going for "Multiplayer Completist" anyway. Please note that XP cannot be earned from the HD and Fury DLC.

  • Altima, C Class, Speed Lap, Pir-hana Speed – beat 52.00 seconds

This trophy is difficult but nowhere near as challenging as the infamous "Beat Zico" trophy in WipEout HD. The Pir-hana Speed ship is unlocked by finishing first and therefore passing the A Class, 3 laps, missile weapon exclusive Altima head to head race against another Pir-hana Speed Ship. This event is located in 2050. Altima C Class Speed Lap is unlocked upon completion of the 2050 campaign. Basically, you must perform several barrel rolls, hit as many speed pads as possible, take shortcuts, keep a good racing line and perform sideshifts to help improve your racing line.

There are a lot of barrel roll opportunities on this track, but the average player could realistically execute between three and six on a good attempt and obtain this trophy providing that they also have a good racing line. A perfect lap is recommended but isn't actually essential here. There are a lot of different methods you could use to get this, but I would recommend the following:

    • 19-20 speed pads (15-16 can be sufficient)
    • 3-6 barrel rolls.
    • Both shortcuts.
    • A good racing line and a perfect lap.
    1. The following six areas are good places to attempt barrel rolls; When you take the first shortcut on the left, you will come across a drop. Barrel roll here.
    2. Soon after, you will come across a huge drop. Barrel roll here.
    3. If you move your ship nose down () at the above drop, it is possible to do a second barrel roll here. This is the most difficult one I've listed, so don't be too concerned if you don't get this one.
    4. From above, you will come across another speed pad. After this, there is a slope. Down the middle of this slope, there is a speed pad. Hit your nose up () and attempt a barrel roll. This is also a little difficult to pull off.
    5. Immediately after this, there is another ramp. You can barrel roll easily here.
    6. The next ramp you reach has a speed pad at the top. If you hit this and sideshift to the right at the correct time, then you will have enough air for another barrel roll. This one is also difficult and is considered one of the more advanced techniques.

You will also want to use the two shortcuts, they are found:

    1. As you start the lap, you go left, then right and the shortcut is tight on the next left. You can perform the first barrel roll mentioned above from here.
    2. The second shortcut is near the end of the lap. Before then, you will come across two speed pads in quick succession. Following these, there is a split path. Take the tight, dark one on the right, (but be careful not to smack against the walls here,) and hit the speed pad on the way out.
  • Reach Zone 65 in any Zone Event

Zone mode is an event whereby you navigate around a track with the speed of your ship gradually increasing until you explode. You cannot stop in a Zone event and can only regain 10% of your energy by completing a perfect lap. The initial speed is D Class which is very slow, but the speed you need to progress to is Mach 1.5, which is even faster than A+ Class. I recommend attempting this trophy on Sol as the track contains very few walls which prevents your ship from bumping or crashing into them which can potentially cause larger amounts of damage. The Sol Zone event is located en route to the Pir-hana Speed event. To elite pass that event, you must reach Zone 60. This is one of the final Zone events that you will encounter, so you would have had some practice before now.

As for a ship, I recommend the AG-Systems Agility ship (Unlocked by scoring 15 points and therefore passing the 2049 B Class, Cannon, Bomb and Mines only Eliminator event in the Empire Climb track,) as it has the joint lowest speed at 5/10 and the highest handling rating at 10/10. Although its health rating is only 5/10, I personally didn't find this to be a problem. It will take a grand total of 10 minutes and 50 seconds to reach Zone 65. Please note that you cannot earn this on the DLC, as there is no 'Mach 1.5' speed on those Zone events.

  • Destroy 7 opposition ships in any Race in the Single Player Campaign

The easiest way to do this is by using the Qirex Prototype on the very first C Class, 3 laps, weapons off race event in the Empire Climb track. Since the enemies are completely defenceless here, you can hit them with the Qirex Prototype's cannons. Aim to take out about three ships on one lap and two on the remaining ones. The best way to do this is to closely follow behind your target and fire the cannon at it until it's destroyed. You can tell if you are hitting an opponent if your race XP increases and the ship you're hitting begins to smoke. Once you destroy the final ship, the race will automatically end and the trophy will unlock. Be careful that the ships aren't destroyed by crashing into a wall, as this won't count. Make sure that the "Contender Eliminated" notification is green so you know that the kill was a result of your actions.

Thanks to kuraki_dan for this method.

  • Hit a total of 2048 Speed Pads

Speed Pads are blue arrows on the ground and other surfaces that give your ship a speed boost. They are located on every track and in every game mode with the exception of Eliminator which only contains weapon pads. 2048 is a very low number considering everything else that you have to do. I had over 10 times this amount by the time I obtained the Platinum trophy, so I'd recommend not to worry about this trophy at all. This statistic can be checked in the Home screen located in the top left hand corner or each game mode screen.

  • Get a Perfect Lap in the Pir-hana Prototype, in the A Class, Unity Square, Speed Lap

The Pir-hana Prototype is unlocked at level 50 by beating 1:18 and therefore passing the A Class, 2 laps Pir-hana Prototype Challenge in the Sol track. The Pir-hana Prototype is very fast, has poor handling and most importantly, it is unable to stop moving.

A Perfect Lap is when you complete a lap without losing any energy from collisions. Energy lost from barrel rolls does not prevent you from earning a Perfect Lap. Holding both airbrakes with L and R can drastically slow down the ship. This makes the trophy a lot easier to achieve, however the lap will take about 15 minutes to complete as the ship will be very unresponsive to movement. This isn't really a problem though as long as you hold on tightly to the shoulder buttons. If you remove your fingers from either button at all, then the ship will immediately speed up again. It is also extremely important to avoid Speed Pads as these will cause you to speed up for a moment which may cause you to crash. The only place you may be able to pull off hitting a speed pad is at the very end of the lap when the path is straight and it is difficult to navigate around the last few Speed Pads.

Thanks to Bandar for this method.

  • Complete all WipEout HD Fury events, obtaining all Gold medals

Note: You don't need to complete the campaign on ELITE difficulty, novice is enough to achieve this trophy.

For this trophy you have to get a gold on at least novice over all 80 events in the Fury campaign. Now, there are new events in this DLC and campaign, as well as some familiar events. Here's a short description of each new mode:

Eliminator: This event just focuses on you shooting everybody and trying to eliminate the other ships. You get points for damaging ships depending on the weapon, but you gets lots more for destroying them. The aim of the game is to reach the required amount of points. You can't absorb weapons to get health, but you can do so to acquire a brief shield, and 20% of your health is restored each time a lap is completed. You can also turn your ship around by using to fire weapons directly into the other ships behind you. This is very similar to combat in 2048.

Zone Battle: This is similar to the HD game mode Zone, except this time you're against others. The aim of the game is to keep going over speed pads and obtaining energy, which can be used either to boost into a faster zone or to regain health. The longer you save up your energy meter, the greater the rewards will be when you boost or absorb. When you boost, you drop a barrier behind you, which causes energy loss should another ship hit it. You have infinite lives here, but if you explode, then you will be set back by five Zones. The aim of the game is to be the first player to reach the required zone number.

Detonator: Again, this game mode is similar to Zone. You are in a little ship that is equipped with an unlimited supply of cannon clips. You have 15 rounds per clip and you have to reload them (or you can manually reload with ). The track is scattered with mines which you need to shoot to gain points as well as one bomb each lap which gives you a big points bonus should you hit it. Going over speed pads adds energy to your EMP meter at the bottom left of the screen, which is used as a quake to wipe out everything in front of you. The longer you allow your EMP meter to build up, the bigger the quake will be when you use it. There are a total of 14 stages in Detonator, each one increasing in speed and adding more mines onto the track. Any mines that were missed on a previous lap still remain to cause more problems, but are worth only 50 points. You have to reach a certain number of points for a medal and the game ends either when you complete all 14 stages or you get destroyed by hitting the mines.
