Uncharted Golden Abyss is one of the best games available on the Vita at the moment. It has beautiful graphics, great controls and amazing use of the Vita's features. The story is set before the events of Uncharted Drakes Fortune (I think) so it includes old unseen characters as well as a familiar face. The game in terms of Platinum is a long one at least compared to the PS3 versions. There are 35 chapters in total, so more than the other Uncharted games. The main reason why this game takes a long time to Platinum is the bounties. Bounties are items that are randomly dropped by enemies in levels or you can receive them using "Near". They take so long to obtain because they appear at random, it took me 1000 kills to get the last few. If you have many friends with the game you can use that to speed the process up, see the guide for more info.
As for missable trophies there aren't any. All the chapters can be replayed again and there is only 1 trophy that can only be obtained through 1 specific chapter. The game's difficulty was also reduced a bit in the patches, before it was a nightmare. Crushing is a cake walk now and is on a par with Hard difficulty. That's about it for the intro, moving on.
Patch 1.02 made Crushing easier but also added some unwanted things. Kills are no longer cumulative by restarting checkpoints. If you are playing the game and it hasn't been patched then it will work, if you do have the patch then it will not. Other cumulative methods such as killing yourself during a chapter or backing out to the main menu and pressing continue do still still work, this effects all the weapon combat trophies. Patch 1.03 is now out and that increases the chances of receiving bounties but BEWARE, installing it resets all counters such as headshot, survivor etc.
Step 1: Complete the game on Hard difficulty and collect all the collectables
The first thing you want to do is complete the game on Hard difficulty. You have to complete the game on hard before crushing difficulty will unlock. Also during this step you will want to get all the collectables across all the stages. Unlike previous Uncharted games, collectables in this game consist of 'mysteries' and 'treasures'. A mystery is made up of specific items, photos and rubbings. You need to collect every clue in the mystery to solve it, thus getting the trophy. For the treasures there is a few sets such as turquoise glyphs, jade glyphs etc. These are separate to the mysteries and there is a certain amount in each collection with a few scattered about in each chapter. This sounds complicated but once you play the game more you'll understand.
The final thing you'll want to do in this step is get as many weapons and miscellaneous trophies done as you can. If you have played previous uncharted games you'll be familiar with the concept of this and shouldn't have any trouble with them. A good tip is to prioritise weapons which you need a trophy for and don't use ones that you already have the trophy for, this will speed up the process by saving you having to grind at the end. At the end if this step you should have all the treasure trophies, charted! - Hard, some weapon kill and misc trophies.
Step 2: Complete the game on crushing difficulty through chapter select, clear up remaining misc trophies
The main thing you want to do in this step is just complete it on Crushing difficulty. This is the hardest difficulty in the game and if you don't have the patches installed it's even harder. With the patches installed however, it is somewhat easy and I flew through crushing in only a few days. You will also want to do what you did in the previous step with the weapon trophies. Prioritise weapons which you need a trophy for and don't use weapons that you already have the trophy for. At the end of this step you should have all but the bounty trophies and some of the weapon trophies.
Step 3: Bounty Farming and Clean up
Missed out on a collectable? Didn't find a miscellaneous trophy? Well now is the time to go back and get them. The main thing you want to do in this playthrough is farm the bounties. I recommend using a combination of "Near" and farming in chapters to get it done quicker. "Near" works by you clicking 'Black Market', then opening "Near" and updating it. This will send all your friends who own a Vita a 'Game Goods' which they can find and download in the "Near" app. This will give them 1 bounty of yours (Don't worry, you still keep all yours). You can do this every 3 hours, the goods also expire in 3 hours so you have to redeem them quick. If you had an army of people doing this on your list you will get the bounties easily but it can be difficult because of time zones.
The farming technique is slightly different. What you want to do is load up one of the following chapters I have provided in the guide below and keep killing enemies. Then restarting the checkpoint or backing out to the main menu and then using continue or during to restart the checkpoint so you can replay the checkpoint again. Unlike the weapon etc trophies you can still get bounties by hitting 'Restart Checkpoint'. I found that backing out to the main menu would make bounties appear more frequently though, it's totally random. Bend Studios say playing on Crushing makes more appear but that isn't true, I got them all by playing on Easy and Normal. I tried Crushing but the drop rate was the same. Prepare to kill about 1500 enemies too, it's not a walk in the park. At the end of this step you should have all the trophies and your Platinum, congrats!
