How to unlock Grimm's Dark Trip Back

Complete the story with Mr. Grimm after having unlocked him by beating Sweet Tooth’s story sequence. Impossible to miss.

This method works for simply beating the event or getting Twisted Gold.

Mr. Grimm's unique boss is the Iron Maiden (giant metal robot). This boss fight has 5 different stages, all with their own unique twists. The first phase involves a mini game of Nuke where you destroy the red car to sacrifice the boss to the missile launcher. The second phase allows you to shoot the statue with missiles and other weapons. The third phase involves a damage cage, where you will self destruct if you are outside of the zone for too long. The fourth phase takes you to the bridge where the robot pounds to push you backward and prevent return fire. The final phase involves a flying head, which will hit the ground if all surrounding mini flying heads are destroyed. This boss has an arsenal of swarmer missiles, giant fireballs, mini flying heads and pounding. Her rocket boosts can also hurt you (much like napalm) if she's hovering over you.

We would suggest Reaper if you're going for the Twisted gold medal as he sacrifices enemy bosses faster, is capable of destroying the enemy cars in one-shot and has a larger energy reserve for freeze missiles. When facing off against enemy cars, simply light up the chainsaw, freeze the opponent and let it rip. Each hit will be an instant kill. Because the sacrifice time is faster, the nuke sometimes starts almost on top of Iron Maiden, making the initial hit much easier. After you've taken down her force field, it should take two flaming chainsaw shots to bring up the damage field and three shots to take the fight to the bridge.

It is crucial to have a full arsenal of weapons at this point because she makes it impossible to light up your chainsaw. 2-3 power missiles and 300 mega ammo bullets should do the trick. After she is left with just a head, it should only take a handful of chainsaw shots or unloading on her with all other ammo. If you're empty after the bridge sequence, be sure to go pick up as much as you can. Again, mega ammo helps. You can find some at the back end of the starting side of the map and some at both ends of the bridge on the other side of the map. Two power missiles are tucked away on hidden paths (easy to spot) with another sitting on the left side of the bridge. As Reaper, these are best saved for the bridge fight. Remember that you have very little armor and it's best to keep moving.

  • Does any one have any other good vehicles to try and get the Twisted Gold? I can't get a hang of Reaper.
  • Juggernaut is what everyone uses for Twisted Gold. It makes it really easy.
